Beach Boys
LoCash Lyrics

I get around round round, get around
I get around, yeah
Get around round round I get around (wah ooh ooh)
(ooh wah ooh ooh)

Let's leave the John Deere here take the CJ
Let's roll this back road into a freeway
Gonna drive until the map turns blue
Where they say we talk a little funny

Let's take the country to the beach boys (ooh ooh ooh)
Trade that red dirt in for sand
Show 'em how we Tennessee boys (ooh ooh ooh)
Catch a John Boy buzz on a catamaran
And get a little bit of red on my redneck (wah ooh ooh)
Drop a lime in the bottom of a long neck (wah ooh ooh)
Find a boat that floats and get shipwrecked (wah ooh ooh)
With some local honey, mm
Let's take the country to the beach boys

I get around round, get around, I get around (ooh ooh ooh)
We'll drink 'em down down, drink 'em down, we'll drink 'em down
Give me the beach boys (ooh ooh ooh)
You get a round round, get a round, you get a round (ooh ooh ooh)
We'll drink 'em down down, drink 'em down

I'm talking way down south where the sun hits
All them girls looking good gettin' sun kissed
Tryin' hard to catch a peek of where the sun missed
And turn 'em on to Brooks and Dunn

We oughta take the country to the beach boys (ooh ooh ooh)

Let's trade our ball caps in for sombreros
Instead of Jack D shoot some Cuervo
Mix up some rum with some kokomo
Blow all our money

We'll drink 'em down down, drink 'em down
Give me the beach boys
I get around round, get around, I get around (ooh ooh ooh)
We'll drink 'em down down, drink 'em down, we'll drink 'em down
Give me the beach boys (ooh ooh ooh)
You get a round round, get a round, you get a round (ooh ooh ooh)

We'll drink 'em down down, drink 'em down
Give me the beach boys

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to "Beach Boys" by LoCash describe a desire to leave behind the everyday life of Tennessee and head to the beach, where life is relaxed and carefree. The chorus contains a sample from the Beach Boys song "I Get Around", which adds to the theme of escape and freedom. The first verse describes leaving behind a John Deere tractor and taking a CJ jeep instead, in order to hit the freeway and escape the confines of rural life. The lyrics suggest that the singer wants to drive until they reach the ocean, where they can feel free and relaxed.

The second verse mentions the singer's desire to go south, where the sun is strong and beautiful women are soaking up its rays. The idea of turning the women "on" to Brooks and Dunn suggests a desire to share the Nashville country scene with new audiences. The bridge of the song takes this idea of escape even further, suggesting that the singer wants to immerse themselves in a completely different culture by trading in their ball caps for sombreros and drinking Cuervo instead of Jack Daniels. The verses and bridge combine to create the image of a group of friends who want to forget their stresses and live it up, at least for a little while, and escape to the beach.
