Brothers
LoCash Lyrics

Couple boys in the seventh grade
Hangin' out at the roller rink
Wasn't hard to twist my arm
And go over where the girls hang
Double dare me to get her name
That turned into a couple skates
Brothers
16 in a Bronco
Tire blown from a pothole
Go figure, in the middle of the night, you're
The only one that picked up the phone
Picked me up on the side of the road
We jammed out the whole ride home
Damn, where did time go, brother?

You call me out when I'm trippin'
Pour 'em strong when I'm sippin'
If I holler at my boy, you'll be there in a minute
Yeah, you know I got your back
Yeah, we've been down like that
Since we were bad boys in some fast toys
On the back roads, we ride (We ride)
It's the way it is, couple crazy kids
Until the day we die
I'm like lightning, you're like thunder
You got one, you get the other
Brothers

Overseas, on the front lines
Bunch of whole different bloodlines
All fighting on the same side
For the same flag and the same rights
These guys wouldn't blink an eye
To lose theirs to save a life
So brother...

You call me out when I'm tripping
Pour 'em strong when I'm sipping
If I holler at my boy, you'll be there in a minute
Yeah, you know I got your back
Yeah, we've been down like that
Since we were bad boys in some fast toys
On the back roads, we ride (We ride)
It's the way it is, couple crazy kids
Until the day we die
I'm like lightning, you're like thunder
You got one, you get the other
Brothers

You call me out when I'm tripping
Pour 'em strong when I'm sipping
If I holler at my boy, you'll be there in a minute
Yeah, you know I got your back
Yeah, we've been down like that
Ever since we were bad boys in some fast toys
On the back roads, we ride (We ride)
It's the way it is, couple crazy kids
Until the day we die ('Til the day we die)
I'm like lightning, you're like thunder
You got one, you get the other
Brothers

And when we strip away the colors

Thank God we got each other
Brothers

Overall Meaning

"Brothers" is a song performed by the American country music duo Locash. This song is about the bond between two close friends who have been through thick and thin together over the years.

The opening verse of the song takes us back to the seventh grade, where the two boys were hanging out at the roller rink, and the singer of the song is dared to get the name of a girl. The verse highlights the connection between the two boys and their shared experiences. The second verse is set in a completely different time frame when the singer of the song is 16 years old, and they both are out on a drive when a tire explodes. The bond between the two friends is highlighted when the other friend is the only one to answer the phone and comes to pick him up from the side of the road. The chorus of the song makes it clear that the bond between the two friends is as strong as ever, and they will be there for each other no matter what.

The third verse addresses the idea of camaraderie between soldiers fighting for a common cause against different backgrounds. They are ready to give up their lives for each other and their country. The chorus repeats itself, underscoring the bond of brotherhood and friendship that they share.

"Brothers" is a powerful and touching tribute to the unbreakable bond between two friends. The song highlights the importance of having someone you can always count on in your life.

LOCASH (2019) – BROTHERS (Traducción)
Couple boys in the seventh grade
Un par de chavales en séptimo
Hangin' out at the roller rink
Pasando el rato en la pista de patinaje
Wasn't hard to twist my arm
No era difícil que me retorciera el brazo
And go over where the girls hang
Y acercarme donde las chicas quedaban
Double dare me to get her name
Un reto complicado el conseguir el nombre de ella
That turned into a couple skates
Que se convertía en un par de patinetes

El único que cogió el teléfono
Picked me up on the side of the road

We jammed out the whole ride home
Apretujados todo el viaje a casa

Me gritas cuando me estoy colocando

On May 26, 2020 I found my 28 year old son deceased on my living room floor. I thought my husband passing away in my arms in November 2014 would be the worse pain I would ever feel. I was wrong. Losing my Jake is still the worse day of my life. He loved this song. So here's to you Jake and all your brother's from different misters. James, Dusty, Rodney, Chuck, and Danny!

@Solocadet

Song has a great message. I can relate on a family level especially since most men in my family have served so growing up me & my actual brothers had each other’s back growing up and after joining the Army following family tradition as a Combat Medic I gained another set of Brothers...
