Marco Antonio Solís also wrote and produced albums for artists such as Marisela, Rocío Dúrcal, and María Sorté. After years of a successful career with "Los Bukis" Marco Antonio decided to pursue a solo career. At first Marco Antonio Solís was called "El Buki" but after an agreement with the rest of the band both parties agreed to not make use of the name. The new band is called Los Mismos ("the same ones") as in "the same members of Los Bukis".
El Pobre Juan

Pero retando a la fría vida
Va muy temprano
Para luchar por el pan del día
Ve con indiferencia
Las imprudencias de mucha gente
Pero en su mente tiene presente
Ah, qué pobre Juan
Sus sueños locos, ¿a dónde irán?
¿En qué cantina se quedarán
Tirados con su cansado cuerpo?
El pobre Juan
Con todos quiere quedar muy bien
Hace un favor sin mirar a quién
Aunque su espíritu está casi muerto
Al regresar a casa
Vuelve a pasar lo que siempre pasa
De prisa busca aquella sonrisa
Que ya lo espera.
Vuelve a caer cansado
Agradece a Dios que bien ha llegado
Solo la noche sabe los sueños
De ese cualquiera
Ah, qué pobre Juan
Sus sueños locos, ¿a dónde irán?
¿En qué cantina se quedarán
Tirados con su cansado cuerpo?
El pobre Juan
Con todos quiere quedar muy bien
Hace un favor sin mirar a quién
Aunque su espíritu está casi muerto
Ah, qué pobre Juan
Sus sueños locos, ¿a dónde irán?
¿En qué cantina se quedarán
Tirados con su cansado cuerpo?
El pobre Juan
Con todos quiere quedar muy bien
Hace un favor sin mirar a quién
Aunque su espíritu está casi muerto
Ah, qué pobre Juan
Sus sueños locos, ¿a dónde irán?
¿En qué cantina se quedarán
Tirados con su cansado cuerpo?
El pobre Juan
Con todos quiere quedar muy bien
Hace un favor sin mirar a quién
Aunque su espíritu está casi muerto
The lyrics to Los Bukis's song El Pobre Juan are a powerful story of a man named Juan who is constantly battling the struggles of life to provide for his family. The opening lines describe Juan as "thoughtful faced, but challenging the cold life" as he wakes up early to fight for his daily bread. He looks at the missteps of others with indifference, but all he thinks about is his family.
Despite his hardships, Juan tries to keep up appearances with everyone and does favors for others without any hesitation. He is weary from the constant struggle and barely has any spirit left in him. When Juan returns home, he searches for the smile that awaits him, but he is exhausted from the day's work. The lyrics highlight the sadness and struggle of Juan's life, bringing us to the question of where his wild dreams will lead him.
The song is a touching reflection of the daily struggles of the common man and how one can lose his spirit and dreams in the fight for survival. The story of Juan finds a deep connection with many people as they try to make ends meet and provide for their loved ones. The song highlights the importance of compassion and support from friends and family to overcome life's difficulties.
