miradas esquivas, miradas cercanas
chicas morenas, chicas coloradas
miradas esquivas, miradas cercanas
chicas morenas, chicas coloradas
The song "Boulevard" by Los Pericos takes listeners on a night walk along a stimulating street, complete with various landmarks and characters. The lyrics are in Spanish, but the general theme is easy to follow. The singer strolls down the boulevard, taking in the sights and sounds of the night, and reminiscing about his past. He describes seeing Pompeii postcards, Chinese figures, and even an Irish coffee shop. The atmosphere is lively, with a woman whistling a tune and people playing their individual games, while violins continue to play until early morning.
The singer's memories seem to be haunting him, as he mentions a lost vision in an alleyway, and a discussion with a couple who asks him something he doesn't know. He also feels like he is alone in the dark, wondering if anyone is watching him, and worrying about the police sirens and patrol cars. Amidst all of this, he sees brown and red-haired girls with their partners waiting at the entrance of a club. The song is a poetic and engaging ode to the urban night, with all of its beauty, danger, and sensory overload.
