Page, born in upstate NY, attended university in Nashville, TN and moved to Los Angeles in 2003. Her experience as a performer began as an electric violinist and keyboard player in various LA-based pop/rock bands, most notably the Australian rock band Porcelain (Universal Records). Page began writing songs in early 2005 after seeing the British alt. rock band Muse perform live at Coachella Music Festival. In 2007 she relocated to London, and spent the next 7 years touring, traveling the world, writing new music, & studying Spanish, French, & German. Much of the inspiration for her writing is derived from her travels. To date she has visited 25 countries.
Her first release, in 2006, was a collection of piano-based alternative songs called The Uglylights (demos), written & recorded in California, followed quickly by the EP Splinter, recorded in London in just 3 days. They were followed up in 2009 by Lunic's first fan-funded album Lovethief, written & recorded in upstate NY. In 2012, she released Future Sex Drama, a full-length written & recorded in Germany & New York City, originally described as “sultry, ethereal synthpop” by Lunic herself. She has also released a plethora of digital singles on iTunes over the years: Beautiful, Dichotomy, Oh No Yoko!, Magic Love-Hate Thing, Far Away (Radio Edit), The Dark House (Elliot Tribal Remix).
On Future Sex Drama, Lunic begins taking her first steps as a producer, bringing together the experimentation behind her early work and a cutting edge pop aesthetic. A blend of dark ethereal synthpop and electronic rock similar to Metric, The xx, Lights or Ladytron, Future Sex Drama is, "Glossy enough for the dance floor but retaining that sinister edge." -CMJ. Each album tackles a different set of influences and styles. This approach has allowed the project to remain flexible and evolving.

Open Your Eyes
Lunic Lyrics

a part of you you don't want me to see
distracted by the voices in your head
you keep it cold
you'll never know
you're numb
all i wanna do is set you free
but i can't seem to make you run to me
open your eyes
there's something in the way that you can't see
the part of you attached to part of me
the life you choose to live with eyes closed
you think it works
cause it doesn't hurt
but it doesn't hurt cause you're numb
all i wanna do is set you free
but i can't seem to make you run to me
i can't hold back and i can't let go cause you make me feel alive
open your eyes
In Lunic's song "Open Your Eyes," the singer is addressing someone who seems to be struggling with their emotions and their past experiences. The lyrics suggest that this person may be disconnecting themselves from others and hiding their true feelings, possibly due to fear or shame. The first verse describes the way that the person looks at the singer, but suggests that there is something more going on beneath the surface. The second verse goes on to say that this person is distracted by the "voices in their head" and is choosing to keep themselves emotionally numb in order to avoid pain.
Despite this, the singer wants to help the person "set themselves free" and break through their emotional barriers. However, they seem to be struggling to connect with the person, and can't make them "run to" them. The chorus repeats the phrase "open your eyes," which could be interpreted in a few different ways. It could be a call to the person to see things more clearly, to break through their emotional numbness and really feel their emotions. It could also be a plea for the person to open themselves up to the singer and let them in, to allow themselves to be vulnerable and form a deeper connection.
Overall, the lyrics of "Open Your Eyes" suggest a theme of emotional vulnerability and the struggle to connect with others. The song highlights the importance of being honest with oneself and others, and of allowing oneself to feel emotions deeply in order to form meaningful relationships.
