I Feel You
Lustral Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

See the sun greeting another day
feel the darkness disappear
I hear you call on a higher place
so far and yet so near
I feel you...
I feel you...
Well I wonder about the days
and I wonder about the nights

when we're both on our own
And I'm thinking about the years
before we both will reach our lives
we won't be alone
we won't be alone

I feel you...
I feel you...

Overall Meaning

In Lustral's song "I Feel You," the lyrics suggest a sense of comfort and hope in knowing that someone is always with you, even if they are physically far away. The line "see the sun greeting another day, feel the darkness disappear" could be interpreted as a metaphor for a new beginning or a sense of optimism. The idea of "hearing you call on a higher place" suggests that the person being sung about is perhaps deceased or unreachable, but that their spirit or memory lives on. The repetition of the line "I feel you" emphasizes the emotional connection that the singer has with this person.

The second stanza suggests a sense of reflective thinking, as the singer wonders about the future and what it may hold for both themselves and the person being sung about. The line "before we both will reach our lives, we won't be alone" suggests a sense of unity, even in the face of uncertainty. The repetition of "I feel you" at the end of each stanza emphasizes the emotional connection and comfort that the vocalist takes in knowing that this person is always with them, even if they are physically removed.

I first really fell in love with this song as I was driving to work at 4am, these HUGE snow flakes were falling as I was on the interstate going 70mph. Oh man I can't express how much I love this song!

I am always amazed when people say that music videos aren't art. I imagine some college film student could write an entire analytical essay about this video alone, full of references to religious themes and motifs. To Ciro Ayala (the video's director), I would just like to say I have fallen in love with your work. The song's pretty good too :)
