Lean On Me

We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there's always tomorrow
Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on for it won't be long
Please swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill those of your needs
That you won't let show
You just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'll understand
We all need somebody to lean on
Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on for it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need somebody to lean on
You just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'll understand
We all need somebody to lean on
If there is a load you have to bear
That you can't carry
I'm right up the road, I'll share your load
If you just call me
Call me
(Yeah, if you need a friend)
Call me
(You need a helping hand)
Call me
(Call me)
Call me
(Call me)
Call me
(Call me)
Call me
(Call me)
Call me
You just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'll understand
We all need somebody to lean on
If there is a load you have to bear
That you can't carry
I'm right up the road, I'll share your load
If you just call me
Call me
(Yeah, if you need a friend)
Call me
(You need a helping hand)
Call me, call me
The lyrics to Lynne Arriale's "Lean On Me" are a powerful reminder of the importance of community and support. The first verse acknowledges that everyone experiences pain and sorrow, but also that there is hope for a better tomorrow. The chorus is a call for people to lean on each other when they're not strong, to borrow from each other when in need, and to be there for each other during difficult moments. The second verse emphasizes the importance of humility and vulnerability, encouraging people to swallow their pride and ask for help when they need it. The bridge repeats the message of the chorus, emphasizing that we are all in this together and that we need to be there for each other.
Overall, the song is a testament to the power of human connection and the importance of a strong support system. In an age where many people feel disconnected and lonely, "Lean On Me" reminds us that we are not alone and that we have the strength to overcome challenges when we come together.
