MIKA Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics to Mika's song Porcelain describe a feeling of vulnerability and fragility that the singer is experiencing. He compares himself to porcelain, a delicate material that is easily broken, and describes how even the slightest breath could shatter him. He talks about how he and someone else are one of a kind and unbreakable, but he never expected to find out that he could crumble. The small cry and paper cut mentioned in the lyrics represent the ways in which he is hurting internally and externally.
This song seems to be about a person who is struggling with their emotions and feeling overwhelmed. They feel like they are on the brink of breaking and need someone to hold them carefully. The metaphor of porcelain is a powerful one, as it conveys both the beauty and fragility of the person's state. The idea that they and another person are one of a kind and unbreakable suggests that they have a special connection, but the fact that the person is crumbling shows that even the strongest bonds can be tested.
In conclusion, Mika's Porcelain is a poignant and powerful song that uses the metaphor of porcelain to describe a person's emotional state. The lyrics convey a sense of vulnerability and fragility, as well as a need for support and care.
