Everybody staring
What did I, what did I do wrong?
What did I, what did I do wrong?
Oh, you see what you wanna see
But you don't even know me
What did I, what did I do now?
He said, she said, over it
You're acting like you're brilliant
But you don't know
Yeah, you don't know
You don't know a thing at all
You don't know about the way I am when I am all alone
You don't even know
The way I care the way I've grown
You don't know about the way I love so deeply to my bones
You don't even know me
Woah
Woah
I walk it off and brush away
Everything you say
'Cause I don't care, I don't care at all
I don't care, I don't care at all
He said, she said, over it
You're acting like you're brilliant
But you don't know (you don't know)
Yeah, you don't know
You don't know a thing at all
You don't know about the way I am when I am all alone
You don't even know
The way I care the way I've grown
You don't know about the way I love so deeply to my bones
You don't even know me
Woah, you don't even know me
Woah, you don't even know
You don't know a thing at all
You don't know about the way I am when I am all alone
You don't even know
The way I care the way I've grown
You don't know about the way I love so deeply to my bones
You don't even know me
You don't even know me, oh
Madeline's "You Turn Me On" is a song about finding peace and tranquility in the presence of God, despite the constant distractions and noise that surround us. She describes how her mind is always running a mile a minute with a laundry list of things to do, and yet, the one thing that she should be doing is just sitting still with God. The song speaks to the challenges of finding the quiet and stillness that is needed to communicate with God effectively.
Madeline's lyrics reveal how her life has been filled with songs and music; and, it's sometimes hard to find the quiet necessary to listen for what God might be saying to her. Her music is a source of distraction for her, and she admits that it can be a challenge to be fully present with God. However, she is willing to try, and she believes that her spirit is always willing even when her flesh is weak. She recognizes that staying still and being present in the moment is not easy for her, but she asks God to keep her there until He speaks to her.
The central theme of the song is its call for quietness and undivided attention to focus on God. The lyrics emphasize the importance of finding time to be still, listen and commune with God. The song is an invitation to seek a deeper and more meaningful relationship with our creator that brings about peace amidst the busy and noisy world we live in.

Notes a mile a minute running through my head
My mind is busy with thoughts and to-dos
And a laundry list of things that I should do instead
I have a long list of tasks that I prioritize over spending time with You
Of just sitting here with You
I don't make time for just being with You
I fly a hundred miles an hour through my day
I move quickly through my day without taking breaks
Without a thought that You might not want me to stay
I don't consider if You want me to slow down and stay with You
So preoccupied with what I do
I am overly focused on my tasks and activities
I don't think I'm scared of silence
I'm not afraid of being alone in quietness
But You've filled my life with song
You have blessed me with joyful experiences
So it's hard to find the quiet
It's challenging to slow down and be in silence
When there's so much going on
My life is busy and filled with activity
And I'm so easily distracted
I get sidetracked easily
By some distant melody
I get distracted by other things that keep me busy
That I forget to stop and listen
I forget to take the time to be still and listen to You
For what You might say to me
I miss out on the messages and guidance that You have for me
It's funny how I'm always so compelled to do
It's interesting how I feel the need to keep busy
When all You want is just for me to come to You
You just want me to spend time with You
But sitting still isn't my strong suit
I struggle with being still and inactive
But my spirit's willing even when my flesh is weak
I am willing to make an effort, even if it's challenging
Sometimes I know that You're the only One who needs to speak
Sometimes I just need to hear from You and no one else
So just keep me here until You do
Please help me stay here until I hear from You
