Madonna Lyrics

Hey Mister D.J.
Put a record on
I want to dance with my baby

Hey Mister D.J.
Put a record on
I want to dance with my baby
And when the music starts
I never want to stop
It's gonna drive me crazy

Music

[Chorus:]
Music makes the people come together
[Never gonna stop]
Music makes the bourgeoisie and the rebel
[Never gonna stop]

Don't think of yesterday
And I don't look at the clock
I like to boogie-woogie, uh, uh
It's like riding on the wind
And it never goes away
Touches everything I'm in
Got to have it everyday

[Chorus:]

Hey Mister D.J.

[Never want to stop]

Hey Mister D.J.
Put a record on
I want to dance with my baby
And when the music starts
I never want to stop
It's gonna drive me crazy
Uh, uh, uh

[Chorus:]

Overall Meaning

Madonna's "Music" was released in 2000 and became a chart-topping hit in multiple countries. The song is a celebration of the power of music to bring people together, regardless of their background or social class. The lyrics encourage listeners to forget about the past and let the music take over, allowing them to connect and enjoy the present moment. The song pays homage to the disco era of the 1970s and features a groovy beat that is impossible not to dance to.

The chorus of the song is particularly notable for its message of unity. Madonna sings, "Music makes the people come together, music makes the bourgeoisie and the rebel." This line speaks to the idea that music can transcend social and economic divides, bringing people from all walks of life together on the dance floor.

I just love how she gets into her music and dances, she's not just up there walking across the stage while her background dancers do everything. Madonna is the perfect idol for the saying "you're as old as you feel"

Ikr, like seriously no artists today are as talented as her. She was 50 in this, was dancing and singing and still had lots of energy and sounded good. Where as now artists today do a squat and they need a gallon of water in order to sing half as good.

Say what you want about her, I doubt very much the ones popular in todays music scene will even be able to do performances with this much energy in their 40's yet alone in their 50's like Madonna still does. So much energy and she still loves what she does.

@GREGORY ™ I agree, but unfortunately a lot of young people call Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift or even Beyoncé as Queens. So for those I have no choice but to remind them why Madonna is the queen. I started listening her as a child, her songs were always playing on the radio but as i grew up and understood that she was doing it not just for fame or money but for something more, specially on her Ray of Light album. And i can't find a female artist who is as versatile and groundbreaking with her messages as Madonna is. She is not the best in vocal prowess, but she's the Queen of the Pop!

GREGORY ™

@Ricardo Neves why tho? Why should there even be a comparision from today's stars to Madonna????

Ricardo Neves

That's exactly what I say to the fanboys and girls of current music stars
