Zwischenwelt
Mantus Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

In Mantus's song Zwischenwelt, the lyrics describe a paradoxical journey from darkness into light, and from the confines of the physical world to the realm of the spirit. The first verse speaks of a soul made of glass, a thought that disappears into nothingness, and the singer falling from the darkness into a blinding light. It is a metaphor for the human condition, where we are fragile, fleeting, and constantly seeking meaning and purpose in life. The singer hopes to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and what lies beyond their perception, even if it means breaking free from the limitations of their own mind. They want to experience a part of themselves that has always been hidden and unexplored.

The second verse references the concept of ultimate reality and the idea that everything we know and experience is a mere fragment of a much larger, infinite whole. The singer approaches the entrance to the "Zwischenwelt," or the world in-between. It is the threshold of a last reality that has existed from birth until the end of time. The singer is seeking a truth that is not tangible or easily understood, but rather something elusive that can only be attained through transcendence.

The third verse speaks of creation and the power of thought. The singer's thoughts and emotions are so intense that they cause them to disintegrate in pain, but also to manifest divine strength. The final line is a philosophical reflection on the interconnectedness of all life, where everything that exists has a purpose and meaning within the larger framework of existence. The call of existence gives birth to new form, structure, and beauty.
