The group features in their discography an EP ("self-titled" released in 2014), the first full album ("Lado Turvo, Lugares Inquietos", released in 2016) and the latest release, the second album "O Cão de Toda Noite", released in October 2019. Over the span of six years since Maquinas was formed, its songs and performances have caught the attention and triggered the curiosity of new listeners outside Fortaleza.
The release of the first album led the band to make their first tour in the northeast (in 2016) and southeast regions of Brazil (in 2017), as well as having received invitations to perform in important venues of the Brazilian alternative music scene, having performed, for example, at the Feira da Música (2016), Maloca Dragão Festival (2017 and 2018) and at the São Paulo Cultural Center/CCSP (2018). With the recent release of their second album, the band now plans to be able to perform even more in 2020, and in even more diverse venues inside and outside the country.

Maquinas Lyrics

"Contramão" by Máquinas is a powerful and introspective song that delves into the regret and self-destruction caused by alcoholism. The first verse describes the singer lying in the back seat of a car, drunk and regretful, with the smell of cigarette smoke making him feel sick. As he looks out at the blurred lights of the night and listens to music that he can hardly hear, he reflects on the frustration he feels with himself for repeating this self-destructive behavior.
In the chorus, the singer admits that he has always gone against the flow ("Eu sempre andei na contra-mão"), and that this has resulted in his current state of despair. He briefly considers reaching out to someone for help but ultimately seems resigned to his self-destructive tendencies.
The song's lyrics are accompanied by a moody, subdued instrumental track that heightens the sense of introspection and melancholy. Overall, "Contramão" is a poignant and honest portrayal of the emotional toll of addiction.
