In 2001, Emilio Acevedo, was involved in other electronic projects, such as Titán, started Sonido Lasser Drakar. Exploring the sounds of dance music, he asked one of his friends, Maria Daniela, to join the group, just for fun. They started in 2003, with a cover of Aerolineas Federales "No me Beses en los labios", and then created the song "Super Vacaciones" (Super Holidays) that was part of the soundtrack of the film "Coapa Heights" by Gibran Asuad.
The duo then recorded the song "Miedo", which came from a electrocumbia sampler from Sonido Lasser Drakar. They started to gain success in the blogsphere and in worldwide clubs. So then they started to perform as a duo. They toured the "World Domination Tour" of Nuevos Ricos throughout Europe and United States, and in 2005, they released their first LP "Maria Daniela y su Sonido Lasser".
María Daniela y su Sonido Lasser like to define their music as Electropop for the Dancing Halls and want their sound to invigorate the current Mexican High Energy scene.
They're also famous for the songs "Fiesta de Cumpleaños", "El Tuviera No Existe", and "Mentiras", cover of Mexican pop icon, Daniela Romo.
They made the theme song for the latest Televisa's reality show, El Bar Provoca.

Me gusta besarte toda
The opening lyrics of "Carita de Angel" by Maria Daniela Y Su Sonido Lasser praise the beauty of a girl with an angelic face, comparing her to a precious doll, yet also acknowledging her goddess-like qualities. Her laughter is described as a rumor, perhaps meaning that it is a rare and valuable occurrence. The second verse delves into the singer's desires for the girl, with a contrasting dialogue between them. He declares his love for her, but she responds by stating that she does not want to be kissed yet. However, the singer persists, and the song ends with a repetition of the phrase "con calma papi" (take it easy, daddy) and the message that being called "muñequita" (little doll) is not a problem.
The song's lyrics can be interpreted in different ways. On one hand, they celebrate the beauty and allure of a girl who may be seen as innocent and fragile, but also has a strong sense of self and playfulness. On the other hand, they can be seen as embodying traditional patriarchal ideas of male domination and female submission, where the singer's desires and persistence are given priority over the girl's reluctance and autonomy. It is up to the listener to decide which reading is more valid or relevant.
