Allá en el rancho grande
Allá donde vivía
Había una rancherita
Que alegre me decía
Que alegre me decía
Como la que usa un ranchero
Con el cuello a media espalda
Y las mangas hasta el suelo
Allá en el rancho grande
Allá donde vivía
Había una rancherita
Que alegre me decía
Que alegre me decía
Te voy a hacer tus calzones
Como los que usa un ranchero
(¿Y luego?
) te los comienzo de lana
Y te los acabo de cuero
Allá en el rancho grande
El gusto de las rancheras
(¿Cuál es?)
Es usar su buen calzado
Y ponérselo el domingo
Cuando bajan al poblado
Allá en el rancho grande
El gusto de los rancheros
(¿Cuál es?)
Es tener su buen caballo, (¿Y luego?)
Apretarle bien la silla
Y correrlo por el llano
Allá en el rancho grande
El gusto de las rancheras
Es tener su buen comal
Echa unas gordas largas
Y gritarle al gavilán
Allá en el rancho grande
El gusto de las rancheras
(¿Cuál es?)
Es bajar el agua al pozo
(¿Y luego?)
A platicar con el novio
Y estar mordiendo el rebozo
Allá en el rancho grande
Me enamoré de un ranchero
Por ver si me daba elotes
Pero el ingrato ranchero
No me daba más que azotes
Allá en el rancho grande
El gusto de las rancheras
(¿Cuál es?)
Es comprarse un buen chomite
Y sentarse por las tardes
Con su cazuela de esquite
Allá En El Rancho Grande, a popular Mexican song that depicts life and love in the countryside, particularly focusing on the Ranch culture with its simple ways of living, at the same time, celebrating the beauty and joy of life in the Mexican ranch. The first few lines of the song emphasize the location, which is at the ranch, where there lived a charming and delightful country girl who promised to make a shirt like a rancher's shirt with the collar halfway down the back and sleeves down to the ankles. The second verse is about the trousers, and how the rancher's trousers are made from wool and leather.
Moreover, the lyrics go into more detail regarding the Ranchers' tastes and preferences when it comes to fashion, lifestyle, and entertainment. For example, the joy that the Ranchers' women derive from making tortillas on a comal, while singing and dancing, is demonstrated in a few lines. The Ranchers' fondness for buying boots, owning horses, and putting them to the test by racing them across the plains is also highlighted. Lastly, the singer mentions being enamoured with a Rancher and trying to impress him but being disappointed when he only gave her a few whacks, and how Rancher women enjoy sitting outdoors with a bowl of esquites after a long day.

Allá en el rancho grande
In that big ranch over there
Allá donde vivía
Where she used to live
Había una rancherita
There was a little female rancher
Que alegre me decía
Who used to say to me with joy
Te voy a hacer tu camisa
I will make your shirt for you
Como la que usa un ranchero
Like the one used by a male rancher
Con el cuello a media espalda
With the collar halfway down the back
Y las mangas hasta el suelo
And the sleeves down to the floor
Te voy a hacer tus calzones
I will make your pants for you
Como los que usa un ranchero
Like the ones used by a male rancher
(¿Y luego?

) te los comienzo de lana
) I start them with wool
Y te los acabo de cuero
And finish them with leather

The only one I will listen to. It has the vocal harmony the others are lacking.
