Losing Control
Mark Diamond Lyrics

A fool of myself.
I let the feelings I felt,
Get the best of me.
Fighting to hear
You scream my name,
But it ain't the same,
PRE-CHORUS
Don't believe a word I say.
Don't you feel it, feel it?
I had to watch you leave
You left me shakin' in my knees.
Oh, I'm losing control.
I know that it's over but
I can't let you go.
I'm screaming,
No, I'm losing control.
I know that it's over but
I can't let you go.
Fighting to see,
That look on your face
That say's it's all okay
And we can go back to our old ways
I came here to say,
That I think you should go
On the next flight home,
Won't you come with me.
PRE-CHORUS
Don't believe a word I say.
Don't you feel it, feel it?
I had to watch you leave
You left me shakin' in my knees.
Oh, I'm losing control.
I know that it's over but
I can't let you go.
I'm screaming,
No, I'm losing control.
I know that it's over but
I can't let you go.
BRIDGE
And you're walking away,
Your turn and say,
I don't want to ever
See you again.
I'm losing control.
I know that it's over but
I can't let you go.
-OUTRO
Oh, I'm losing control.
I know that it's over but
I can't let you go.
I'm screaming,
No, I'm losing control.
I know that it's over but
I can't let you go.
The lyrics of Mark Diamond's song "Losing Control" express the sentiment of someone who has let their emotions get the best of them and is now faced with the reality that their relationship is over. The first verse depicts the regret of making a fool of oneself by allowing feelings to take over. The next lines talk about trying to get back to the way things were before, but realizing that it's not possible. In the pre-chorus, the singer acknowledges that they know it's over but can't seem to let go. They also note that they were left "shakin'" after the other person leaves. The chorus reinforces the idea that the singer is losing control and struggling to accept the end of the relationship.
The second verse talks about desperately hoping for a sign that things can be fixed and that everything will be alright. The singer asks the other person to come with them, but ultimately knows that it's time to say goodbye. In the bridge, the other person walks away and says they don't want to see the singer again, leading to the repeated repetition of the chorus and the outro. The emotions in the song are potent, reflecting the struggle of coping with loss and the struggle to let go of something that once brought joy and comfort.
