After the split-up of Hederos & Hellberg, Hellberg went into the studio in September 2003 together with some fellow musicians forming Hellberg's backup band Healing Hand. Hellberg started recording his own songs, and ended up with ten songs about the melancholy of life released on his self-titled debut album.
Oh No
Mattias Hellberg Lyrics

On the other side but it ain't true
Oh no, it didn't last for more than days
I rocked the whole foundation
Of the world, the world where I was born
Oh no, it didn't even shake the way it should
And turned my back on you
Oh no, I was a fool in every way
My heroes were all masters in the
Art of leaving troubles all behind
Oh no, but they were blind for what they left
I was a quitter, I ran away
Whenever troubles crossed my way
I didn't know what I left
I only knew how to run away
They raised me with the myth of being a loner
No matter what the price
Oh no, I was a chump for all those years
The shortest way was always to the door
And someone said, "Don't look back"
Oh no, and so I didn't 'til today
I was a quitter, I ran away
Whenever troubles crossed my way
I didn't know what I left
I only knew how to run away
The lyrics of Mattias Hellberg's song Oh No explore the theme of running away from one's problems and feeling the regret that comes after such actions. The first stanza talks about the common belief that the grass is always greener on the other side, but the singer realizes that it is not true. This could refer to the tendency to constantly seek external solutions to internal problems, without realizing that the problem lies within. The second stanza explores the singer's attempts to shake up the world where they were born and make a change. However, they realize that their efforts were in vain as they did not even make a significant impact. This could be seen as a reflection of the singer's own sense of helplessness in the face of their personal struggles.
The third stanza talks about how the singer burns their bridges and turns their back on someone, which they now regret. The fourth and fifth stanzas describe how the singer looked up to heroes who were experts at leaving their troubles behind, but they were unaware of the consequences of this behavior. In the final stanza, the singer admits to being a quitter who always runs away from their problems. They were raised to believe that being a loner is a virtue, and they believed it for many years. However, they now realize that they were chumps for believing this and that the shortest way is not always the best way.
Overall, the song is a poignant reflection on the human tendency to escape from difficult situations without realizing the consequences of one's actions.
