I Want To Feel I'm Wanted
Maze Lyrics

If I don't answer when you call my name
Don't you get mad
If my kisses don't feel the same
Baby don't feel bad
I go on everyday thinkin bout you
Religiously
Oh and lately I've been so confused
What's wrong with me

Oh I toss and I turn and I yearn and I yearn
And I don't know what to do
Oh I've tried being by myself
Don't want anybody else but you all I know is I

Want to feel that I'm wanted baby I
Need to feel that I'm needed

I remember when you use to be here
All of the time
You were there when I needed you most
Everything was fine
Now you can't seem to figure out just where I'm at
Well you can't give me love this
Then take it back

Oh I toss and I turn and I yearn and I yearn
And I don't know what to do
Oh I've tried being by myself
Don't want anybody else but you all I know is I

Want to feel that I'm wanted oh how I
Need to feel that I'm needed

Can't you see that I want to feel that I'm wanted baby I
Need to feel that I'm needed

Can't you see that I
Want to feel that I'm wanted
Baby I need to feel that I'm needed

The same things you want I want them just like you. The same things you need baby better believe better believe that I want them just like you do. I want to feel that I'm wanted I need to feel that I'm needed all the things that you want yes I want what you want I need what you need yes I love what you love the same things you need

Overall Meaning

"Maze" is an R&B band that was formed in San Francisco back in 1970. The band became successful in the late 70s, and they continued to produce successful music up until their last album in 1993. The song "I Want to Feel I'm Wanted" was released in 1986, and it was written and produced by singer and record producer Frankie Beverly.

The lyrics of this song are about a relationship that has lost its fire. The singer is yearning for his partner's affection and feels lost without it. He sings about his confusion and how he has tried to be alone, but he just can't shake off the feeling of needing to feel wanted and needed. He describes how he wants the same things as his partner and how he loves what she loves. The singer acknowledges that his partner may be confused and unsure of where he's at. Still, he urges her not to take back her love once she gives it to him because the feeling of being needed and wanted is crucial to him.

The chorus repeats the phrase "I want to feel that I'm wanted, baby, I need to feel that I'm needed." This line emphasizes the importance of feeling loved and wanted in a relationship. The singer's passionate delivery of these lines emphasizes how crucial this feeling is to him.

The younger generation will never understand what it was like growing up listening to music from the late 60's for me and all of the 70's, 80's. If you saw Maze in concert this is how it would sound exactly. No studio effects what so ever. Pure musicianship
