Finding his voice in a school choir, Crawford began his professional career still a teenager. Having some luck on the London stage in the early 60s, he then found his way onto the BBC and starred in various programmes such as 'Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em'. He also had film roles in 'The War Lover', 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum'. and 'How I Won the War' (which brought him into the same work as John Lennon).
Andrew Lloyd Webber's casting of him opposite Sarah Brightman and Steve Barton as the Phantom in 1986 shot his career into high gear. Winning a Tony Award for his role, Crawford also had the aforementioned tune, "The Music Of The Night", reach the British Top Ten. He has released several studio albums such as 'A Touch of Music in the Night' and 'On Eagle's Wings' among others.
Love Changes Everything

Hands and faces, earth and sky
Love, love changes everything
How you live and how you die
Love, love can make the summer fly
Or a night seem like a lifetime
Yes love, love changes everything
Now I tremble at your name
Love, love changes everything
Days are longer, words mean more
Love, love changes everything
Pain is deeper than before
Love will turn your world around
And that world will last forever
Yes love, love changes everything
Brings you glory, brings you shame
Nothing in the world will ever be the same
Off into the world we go
Planning futures, shaping years
Love (comes in) and suddenly all our wisdom disappears
Love makes fools of everyone
All the rules we made are broken
Yes love, love changes everyone
Live or perish in its flame
Love will never never let you be the same
Love will never never let you be the same
The song "Love Changes Everything" by Michael Crawford is a powerful ballad that explores the transformative power of love. The opening lines proclaim that love has the ability to transform everything around us, from the physical world to our own lives and even our deaths. Love is shown as an unpredictable force that can either make time fly by or make a moment last forever. The next verse states that love can lead to deeper pain than before, but it also brings a greater intensity to our words and actions that surpasses anything we have experienced before.
The chorus affirms that nothing in the world will ever be the same once we experience love. It is portrayed as something that can bring us both glory and shame, but it ultimately changes us in ways we never thought possible. The final verse speaks of the randomness of love and how it can make fools of anyone who tries to predict its power. Love is shown to be the force that renders all of our preconceived notions about life and wisdom useless. The last line is a powerful affirmation that love will change us forever and will never let us remain the same.
