Michael Head (born in Kensington, Liverpool; 28 November 1961) also known as Mick Head, is an English musician,most famous as the lead singer and songwriter for The Pale Fountains, Shack and The Strands. Although none of these bands achieved mainstream success, they all had a strong following. NME once described him as "a lost genius and among the most gifted British songwriters of his generation", and this sentiment is often expressed by fans and critics in the know.

This really reminds me of a song called “ Sadie” that was played by a short-lived Liverpool group called The Australians and which included Chris McCaffery or Biffa who was an original member of the Pale Fountains. We did a show at The Adelphi in Hull on the invitation of Paul Heaton of the House Martins and Beautiful South in about 1988. Chris died suddenly a year later. It was a great shock.
