Last Party
Mika Lyrics

It's been happening for many years
You weren't invited and don't want to stay
But keep partying anyway
Dj's playing the familiar tune
Got them dancing, shaking up the room
They hear the beat but they don't know the words
This is the saddest song I've ever heard
Ooh
If you could look into the future, would ya?
If you could see it, would you even want to?
Got a feeling that there's bad news coming
But I don't want to find it out
If it's the end of the world, let's party
Like it's the end of the world, let's party
Wrap your arms around everybody
If we're all gonna die let's party
Let's party
Let's party
Who can I blame with everything I've done
Is this the price we pay for too much fun
Don't be misled it's not a twist of fate
It's just what happens when you stay out late
So raise your glasses all my kings and queens
Smash the chandelier to smithereens
Who knew that mercury could rise so fast
Enjoy the party 'cause this is our last
Ooh
If you could look into the future, would ya?
If you could see it, would you even want to?
Got a feeling that there's bad news coming
But I don't want to find it out
If it's the end of the world, let's party
Like it's the end of the world, let's party
Wrap your arms around everybody
If we're all gonna die, let's party
If it's the end of the world, let's party
Like it's the end of the world, let's party
Wrap your arms around everybody
If we're all gonna die let's party
Let's party
Let's party
Let's party
Let's party
There's a party going on in here
It's been happening for many years
And even if it all goes bad
It was the best time we ever had
Mika's "Last Party" is an upbeat and bittersweet song about an apocalyptic party that has been going on for many years, with people continuing to dance even though they don't know the words to the music. It's a testament to the human spirit, a celebration of life even in the face of imminent doom. The song begins by acknowledging that there's a party happening, but the listener wasn't invited and doesn't really want to be there. Despite this, the partygoers keep dancing anyway, caught up in the familiar beats and the joy of being alive.
The chorus is where the song really shines, with Mika singing about the end of the world and how we should all party like it's our last day on Earth. He addresses the listener directly, asking if they would want to look into the future and see what's coming, and then suggesting that there's bad news on the horizon. Despite this, he doesn't want to find out what it is, preferring to enjoy the moment and be present in the here and now.
Throughout the song, Mika wrestles with the idea that maybe the party and all the fun he's had has come at a cost. He wonders who he can blame for everything he's done and suggests that maybe the price of too much fun is a gradual decay of society. But he chooses not to dwell on these thoughts for too long, preferring instead to smash the chandelier and revel in the moment. The song ends with a message of hope, with Mika saying that even if everything goes bad, the party was still the best time they ever had.
Overall, "Last Party" is an uplifting and poignant song that captures the essence of what it means to be alive. It's a song about living in the moment and cherishing the time we have with the people we love, even if the end is nigh.

This man is such an amazing artist, person, human. And this music made me cry. He's so different, and it's so beautiful ! It seems that people are afraid because he's not like everyone else. Or they're idiot if they can't see how beautiful and amazing he is. Am I the only one who think that ?
