No Place in Heaven
Mika Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Father, will you forgive me for my sins?
Father, if there's a heaven let me in
I don't know where to go if I should die
We haven't been on speaking terms for so long you and I

I was a freak since seven years old
Being cast away, I felt the cold
Coming over me
For every love I had to hide
And every tear I ever cried

I'm down on my knees
I'm begging you, please
There's no place in heaven for someone like me
Won't you open the door and try me once more?
'Cause there's no place in heaven for someone like me
'Cause there's no place in heaven

In between a solution can be found
How long will I swim before I drown?
And in between those words we dare not say
Do you think that you could learn to love me anyway?

I was a freak since seven years old
Being cast away, I felt the cold
Coming over me
For every love I had to hide
And every tear I ever cried

I'm down on my knees
I'm begging you, please
There's no place in heaven for someone like me
Won't you open the door and try me once more?
'Cause there's no place in heaven for someone like me
Oh, I'm down on my knees
I'm begging you, please
There's no place in heaven for someone like me
'Cause there's no place in heaven

Father, won't you forgive me for my sins?
Father, if there's a heaven let me in
Father, is there any way to see
If there's room in heaven left for me?

I'm down on my knees
I'm begging you, please
There's no place in heaven for someone like me
Won't you open the door and try me once more?
'Cause there's no place in heaven for someone like me
Oh, I'm down on my knees
I'm begging you, please

There's no place in heaven for someone like me
There's no place in heaven for me

Am I the only one who thinks that Mika and Freddie Mercury would have come along really well?

Maggie

No. I think the same way :)

I'm bisexual and raised Catholic, and while my issue is more with the Catholic Church than with God and I still consider myself religious, I still felt so alienated and abandoned by the Church that I had to break with it. Church should be a place where you find peace and happiness, not anxiety and despair, and nobody should ever feel torn between their religion and their sexuality. This hits so close to home.

Talk to Him, He is the one who have more chances of helping you and He wants the best for you, so...

@Iago of Draig Gwyn do you really have nothing better to do? God, if they exist, is a god of love and acceptance, not a god to be used to push whatever pathetic agenda the writers want to push that week

Iago of Draig Gwyn

Pretty sure the bible speaks about this and these issues.

Romans 1:26-27

And for context to the intended meaning;

Leviticus 18:22 & 20:13

I was raised as a Christian but not Catholic. I know you feel and my church is way more strict. I'm not bi, but I'm Pansexual and Genderfluid.

Caroline Aurelia me too. I’m bisexual and I go to a church that believes in opposite sex marriages and I always felt torn about my sexuality and my religion

That's the first time that I cry for a song. Thank you Mika for all you did and you do to me. There's no doubt, you're my favorite singer. Only you seems to understand me. Even my friends don't know me like you. In every song I see a part of me, and my life. And it's just..fantastic. The 30 september I'll go at your concert in Florence, Italy. And...i think that I'll cry all the time. Thank you. And.. happy 32 birthday, Michael ♥

Gosh I've just found this comment and the feels are taking over me. I was in Florence too on that 30th September, I can't realise how fast the time has ran away. Mika is my savior.
