Milk Teeth Lyrics

I'm rattling against the locks,
You left me here,
Left in the dark,
You looked to be my one last chance.
I'm in decline,
You watch me try,
Along the line.
I'm in decline,
You watch me try,
You will fall down,
Along the line.
Pulled me out from this dark place,
Helped me clean this mess we've made,
You said we'd last until the end,
But your empty words won't help me mend.
I'm in decline,
You watch me try,
You will fall down,
Along the line.
I'm in decline,
You watch me try,
You will fall down,
Along the line.
And I'm in decline,
You watch me try,
And you will fall down,
Along the line.
And I'm in decline,
You watch me try,
And you will fall down,
Along the line.
The song "No Fun" by Milk Teeth has a haunting yet powerful melody that captures a sense of desperation and heartbreak. The lyrics appear to be about a relationship that has gone wrong, leaving the singer feeling trapped, abandoned, and in decline. The first verse sets the tone for the rest of the song, with the singer feeling stuck in a "bolted box" and shaking against the locks in an attempt to escape. They are left in the dark by the person they once saw as their "one last chance," highlighting the sense of betrayal they feel.
The chorus repeats twice, each time emphasizing the sense of decline and the inevitability of the other person falling down "along the line." The second verse offers a glimmer of hope, with the other person appearing to help the singer out of a "dark place" and work through the "mess" they have made together. However, the singer recognizes that the promises of lasting until the end are "empty words" that won't heal the hurt they feel. The chorus repeats once again, as if to emphasize the inevitability of the relationship's demise.
Overall, the song explores the pain of feeling trapped in a dying relationship, and the frustration of realizing that the other person cannot ultimately save you. The repetition of the chorus adds to the feeling of being stuck, with no escape from the hurt and decline of the situation.
