With nothing more than a crooked spoon
It's possible, we all messed up too soon X1
You'll keep a close eye
On the ever passing time
Fake a left turn torwards the air
A brickwall through the bend
A burst of colour, an open window
Sharp pain, a smiling face
You're nothing more than emtpy space
So I'll just (steal/feed/eat?) the moon
With nothing more than a crooked spoon
It's possible, we all messed up too soon X1
The next time I arrive
I hope I feel more alive
A lack of worries, a lack of drive
It's all spun around in my mind
Is this wrong, is this right?
I won't know until next time
I guess I'll just live my life
As another body in line
So I'll just (steal/feed/eat?) the moon
With nothing more than a crooked spoon
It's possible, we all messed up too soon X1
I am just a girl / I am just a boy
My hair is long / My hair is long
My eyes are green / My eyes are blue
I still feel pain / And I still feel pain
I didn't cry last night X2
But I am dead inside, dead inside
The song "Melon Blade" by Milk Teeth talks about the struggles of an individual in finding their place in life. The opening line "So I'll just (steal/feed/eat?) the moon with nothing more than a crooked spoon" symbolizes the endless pursuit of happiness, where obtaining the moon can seem impossible, but with a crooked spoon, one can still find a way. However, despite the effort, the individual feels they messed up too soon.
The following verses convey the daily struggles and anxiety that the individual experiences. The line "Things you don't care to know, a burst of colour, an open window" suggests that despite the person's interest in life, sometimes they lack the determination to pursue it. The individual is trying to move forward but feels trapped in their emotions. The last verse talks about the uncertainty of their life, describing how they feel dead inside despite the desire to keep moving forward.
Overall, the song is about an individual's search for meaning and the struggle to find their place in life. It’s a relatable song for anyone going through a similar experience in finding their way.
