Both of her parents are private investigators, but father Rick is also a country guitarist and songwriter. Lambert became seriously interested in country music after attending a Garth Brooks concert as a young girl, and soon began singing in talent contests under the tutelage of her father.
At 16, Miranda began appearing on the Johnny High Country Music Review in Arlington, Texas, the same show that helped launch the career of LeAnn Rimes. Miranda quickly landed a recording session in Nashville, but left the studio in tears after she became frustrated with the "pop" sound of music that was not her own. Upon returning to Texas, Miranda began writing songs and taking guitar lessons from her father.
When Miranda's aptitude for music became apparent, her parents encouraged her to aggressively pursue singing and acting opportunities. While still a high school student, Miranda made her professional singing debut and fronted the house band at the Reo Palm Isle Ballroom in Longview, Texas, a long-running venue that has showcased Elvis Presley and Willie Nelson.
Foregoing college, Miranda performed throughout Texas in 2001 and 2002. She finished first in the Texas auditions for Nashville Star and eventually placed third on the national competition.

He came up from JuΓ‘rez
Lookin' for a hell of a time
With a blonde seΓ±orita
And a tall margarita
We danced on the tables all night
Then I said, "AdiΓ³s
Casamigos
'Cause he don't love me like tequila does
Nobody can
He don't give me that border town buzz
Like tequila does
I'd sure like to find
A cowboy tonight
To get me back in the saddle
But the boys around here
Drink domestic beer
They're all hat, no cattle
But I won't sleep alone
'Cause my old pal PatrΓ³n
Is taking me home tonight
They don't love me like tequila does
Nobody can
They don't give me that border town buzz
Like tequila does
Well, I might as well face it
I'm always chasin'
A kiss with a twist of a lime
When I'm drinking doubles
I'm nothing but trouble
And trouble's so easy to find
Hand me a sombrero
'Cause Jose Cuervo
Is taking me home tonight
No, they don't love me like tequila does
Nobody can
They don't give me that border town buzz
Like tequila does
No, they don't love me like tequila does
Nobody can
They don't give me that border town buzz
Like tequila does
They don't give me that border town buzz
Like tequila does
The lyrics of "Tequila Does" by Miranda Lambert tells the story of a woman who is looking for excitement in a dusty border town. She meets a man with the last name Flores who takes her out for a wild night of dancing and drinking. However, despite the fun, she realizes that this man doesn't love her like tequila does. She chases after the feeling of being in love and the thrill of the moment, calling out for a cowboy to take her home, yet finding herself with her old pal PatrΓ³n and Jose Cuervo in the end.
Through the lyrics, the artist highlights the contrast between the thrill of the moment and the search for real love. The singer is unfulfilled by the men around her who seem to lack passion and excitement, and she is often turning to tequila as a replacement for the love she craves. The use of different types of tequila brands in the chorus, referring to tequila as "he" and "they," is a clever and creative way of personifying tequila as the lover she really wants.
Overall, "Tequila Does" is a well-written, catchy song that conveys the idea of living in the moment, chasing after love, and experiencing the enticing thrill of tequila.

Amen !!!
Dannii Dee
Aeriel Bryson - exactly! I donβt mind a few of Carrie Underwoodsβ songs, but she calls herself a country singer when a lot of her music is very pop-oriented - just my opinion! But Mirandaβs is more raw country, and we definitely saw that with her last album TWOTW
