The band released three albums: "Spring Session M" (1982), "Rhyme & Reason" (1984) and "Color in Your Life" (1986). The band split in 1986 and the band members moved on to other projects. Warren Cuccurullo became the guitarist for Duran Duran and Dale Bozzio and Patrick O'Hearn each pursued solo careers. Terry Bozzio toured as the drummer for several rock musicians, including Steve Vai, Dweezil Zappa and Jeff Beck and later formed his own solo band.
Warren, Dale and Terry reformed Missing Persons in 2001 and performed several concerts throughout the United States. Terry Bozzio left the band in late 2001, and the band continued until 2003.
Cuccurullo and Dale Bozzio reformed Missing Persons once again in 2011 for a reunion tour.
As of 2013, Cuccurullo is no longer touring with Missing Persons. According to Dale Bozzio at the Tiki Room show in Costa Mesa, CA, Warren is suing the band for the image on their Spring Session M album. Terry Bozzio has changed drastically in appearance with much longer hair, a different colour (it used to be black) when compared to the Terry Bozzio Official page on Facebook. The keyboard player currently touring with them is Michael T. Ross who has also played with Lita Ford and Angel.
Rock And Roll Suspension
Missing Persons Lyrics

What is the answer to the rock 'n roll suspension?
Will you remain alone to spend your old age pension?
To reconcile with the hours of school you spent in detention?
When she is gone, where will you regain this adoration?
Now what will you declare to be your destination?
Can you depend on your reflection
To disguise your love contamination?
So she says that you need too much attention
What is the answer to this rock 'n roll suspension?
Do you examine your projections
Based on the impulses of your impressions?
Just know only you will live your reputation
Will the culmination be perfection?
Can you depend on your reflection
To disguise your love contamination?
Too much attention, this rock 'n roll suspension
The song "Rock And Roll Suspension" by Missing Persons seems to have a theme of self-reflection and doubt. The lyrics suggest a person who is seeking attention and validation, possibly through rock and roll music, but is faced with the consequences of their actions. The first verse questions whether or not the person will be left alone, without the adoration they crave. The second verse raises the question of whether the person's projections and impulses will lead to a perfect reputation. The chorus emphasizes that the person is experiencing a suspension, possibly a limbo or a pause in their quest for validation.
The use of metaphors like "rock and roll suspension" and "love contamination" suggests that the person is not only struggling with attention-seeking behavior but also with deep-seated emotional issues. The song ends without providing clear answers, leaving the listener to ponder the questions raised.
Overall, the lyrics are open to interpretation and suggest a deep-seated struggle for validation and attention that is characteristic of human nature. The use of imagery and metaphors provides a vivid depiction of the emotional pain and fear that the person is experiencing.
