Elliott is one of the first female hip hop superstars, known for a long series of hits including "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)", "Hit 'Em Wit Da Hee", "Get Ur Freak On", "One Minute Man", "Work It", and "Lose Control". In addition she has received recognition as one of the most successful songwriters of the modern music era, having crafted a number of hit records for artists such as Aaliyah, 702, Total, Ciara, Nicole Wray and Tweet, often with production-partner and childhood friend Timbaland. She was the third female rapper to ever go Platinum, behind Lil' Kim and Da Brat.
Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, she began her career in the all-girl R&B group, Sista in 1993. Eventually, the band folded and Elliott began her career as a solo rapper. Since the early 1990's, Elliott has won six Grammys, recently scoring one for her video of "Lose Control."
Other releases are 'Teary Eyed' and 'We Run This', and the last of these two songs will be the main single of the new greatest hits album titled 'Respect M.E.: Best Of' featuring 17 tracks from her six albums.

Me and Timbaland we make you want to bite our style (fa la la la la)
Me and Timbaland we make you want to bite our style
Want to bite our style, baby (fa la la la la)
Me and Timbaland we make you want to bite our style
Me and Timbaland, Timbaland
Our style's so superb, have you heard, have you heard?
Our style's so superb have you heard, have you heard?
Me and Timbaland, uh huh
Our style's so superb (say what) have you heard the word?
In Missy Elliott's song Bite Our Style, the lyrics primarily refer to the uniqueness of the musical style that she and Timbaland have created. The refrain emphasizes how their sound is so original and distinct that other artists might want to imitate it, i.e. bite their style. The use of "fa la la la la" adds a playful touch to the lyrics, while the repetition of the words "me and Timbaland" highlights the creative partnership between the two artists.
The verses further reinforce the idea that their style is one-of-a-kind, and that they're confident in its superiority. By repeating "have you heard?" and "say what?" Missy and Timbaland make it seem like they're asking a rhetorical question -- everyone has heard their style, and everyone knows that it's ahead of the curve. The song doesn't have a straightforward narrative, but the overall message is clear: Missy and Timbaland are pioneers, boundary-pushers, and trendsetters, and everyone wants to emulate them.
Overall, Bite Our Style is an ode to the power of creativity, and a celebration of Missy Elliott and Timbaland's musical legacy. The lyrics are catchy and confident, and the production is typically top-notch. It's a testament to how even the simplest of phrases can encapsulate a rich and complex artistic vision.
