[untitled 1]
Mono & World's End Girlfriend Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

loin du monde
qui vient qui vamais si près de toi
contre ton coeur
en apesanteur
loin de tous ceux qui me voient
comme je ne suis pas
pour quelques heures
je n’ai plus peur
je ne peux que rester là
lové près de toi

contre ton coeur
je n’ai plus peur

Overall Meaning

The opening lines of Mono & World's End Girlfriend's song [untitled 1], "Loin du monde/ qui vient qui va/ mais si près de toi/ contre ton cœur/ en apesanteur" translate to "Far from the world/that comes and goes/ but so close to you/ against your heart/ weightlessly". The lyrics evoke a feeling of being disconnected from the world and being able to escape into a moment of intimacy with someone. The singer feels weightless and free from fear as they are able to be close to the person they love.

The following lines, "Loin de tous ceux qui me voient/ comme je ne suis pas/ pour quelques heures/ je n’ai plus peur/ je ne peux que rester là/ lové près de toi/ contre ton cœur/ je n’ai plus peur" translate to "Far from all those who see me/ as I am not/ for a few hours/ I am no longer afraid/ I can only stay there/ curled up next to you/ against your heart/ I am no longer afraid". These lyrics continue to reinforce the idea of being disconnected from the outside world and the judgment of others. The singer has found solace in being with their loved one and is no longer afraid of being their true self.

Overall, the song [untitled 1] embraces the idea of intimacy and fearlessness in the face of the world. It conveys the desire to escape from the world and its pressures and find a moment of peace with someone else.

Sure I’ll be 👍 #64, rounding out the 64 hexagrams in the I Ching which is (2X2)X(2X2)x(2X2) FWIW
Has anyone noticed that there are NO 👎s ? That doesn’t happen very often.

I’ve come back to this recording again recently after a long hiatus and once again I’m Totally Enveloped in it just like happened back when I first discovered it.

This piece is unlike anything produced in the past maybe 90-100 years, and even to compare it to things from the Early Avant Garde period of Classical Music like perhaps The Rite of Spring, the Concerto for Orchestra, and La Mer is wrong because just as those pieces Broke The Mold of That Which Came Beforehand, so too have the great recent Anthemic Hymns of Post Rock broken the mold of Whatever Trash it was that came before it with this piece SO CLEARLY OCCUPYING THE PINNACLE OF THAT PYRAMID as to be Indisputable.

These days I’m focused on the idea of Humanity’s Ascension to our Rainbow Light Bodies, a Joint Spiritual Awakening, facilitated by selected Ascended Masters who are helping us transcend that which has been keeping us Down Here on the 3rd dimensional plane. And it’s PIECES OF MUSIC LIKE THIS ONE which provide a Central Point of Coalescence, a point of Correspondence, a point of reference at a Higher Place.

When we listen to this we go to That Place Again and Again and each time get some sort of Manna or Something which actually Sustains and Nourishes Us. And the more we go to This Place and the more we Give to that Central Secret Spiritual Meet-Up, the more IT gives to each one who goes to this Well of Love for a Drink.

Wow, I Really sound like a New Age Freak don’t I?? Oh well... I don’t care.

Aha, YOU’RE the one to whom I owe a Great Debt of Gratitude for turning me on to this, the Greatest Recording of the 21 st century!! Thanks a Lot! I had already discovered Mono after their 2nd album and saw them in a small joint in SF. It was their first West Coast tour and they spoke NO ENGLISH, (whatever, no es importa). There was an opening band but I forget who they were. After they left, Mono came out, picked up their instruments, checked levels, tuning briefly and then slowly at first, like they do and over the next ONE HOUR AND 45 MINUTES continued building in volume and intensity until they Ended in what can only be called a Multiple Musical Orgasm, followed by the natural Detumescence. Then they put their instruments down and while we were all Screaming/Crying/Cheering they walked off stage and didn’t come back. That was Mono.

W.E.G. was unknown to me before this project. It appears to me to be a composition project of one person who assembles bands/chamber-type ensembles to record his works. He’s certainly very prolific. I don’t like All his stuff but it’s good overall.

Any recommendations of other things that might Hold A Candle To Palmless Prayer would be great. Believe it or not I listen to classical music mostly.

Oh, also. Do you know anything more about this project? It appears to have bits taken from
elsewhere? Like is there more? Did the WEG guy all of it or ?

Thanks again
🐰

Just cried for the first time for years while I'm at a lake. Life is overwhelming sometimes and I think I needed it for a very long time.

I totally lose myself when I listen this. Easily my favorite album of all time. I have listened to this so many times and it will never get old.

+Ben Astarb I'm finally rediscovering after a few years. So nostalgic and just as engaging as I remember.

Wow... I was doing boring homework while listening to this for the first time without much attention, and at 55:00 I suddenly was overwhelmed by sadness... I was interupted in my work because my subconscious was suddenly tearing up. That is some truly powerfull music right there!

@SPARKLEDAZEY

I bought this album on CD from a Tower Records in Lakewood, CA when it was closing down. This album made me feel like I was in the middle of the Pacific ocean on a moonless night and glassy waters.

Quizá sea que jamas he realmente escuchado.

WOW, so a couple of years ago, I was chatting with this random dude on Omegle and he introduced me to post rock. He sent me some God is an Astronaut songs and I was like, "meh, it's p cool I guess." He then told me that there was a free download of this album, so I downloaded it, put it on my iPod, and listened to it for several months. I changed iPods and lost the album. I rediscovered it just now! I'm just so glad he introduced me to post rock because it's my favorite genre now.

@BelieMyBurial

Man, this album just destroys me every time i listen to it. And yet, i cant stop.
