I've spent too much time
I'm gon' get to know it (Get to know it, get to know it, baby)
Keep it by my side
I was waiting out the wonder
(Wait, wait, wait, wait)
Won't let the wait take me under
(Wait, wait, wait, wait)
Won't let the wait take me under
The answer's in reflection
I'm rising up
The truth is gonna find me
I'm rising up
The answer's in reflection
I'm rising up
Know the truth is right behind me
I'm rising up (I'm rising up)
Hands in the air, I'm jumping in
(Jumping into the deep end)
It's a friendly fight (Friendly fight)
Got to, got to sink into the feeling
(Get to know it, get to know it, baby)
Before you can rise
I was waiting out the wonder
(Wait, wait, wait, wait)
Won't let the wait take me under
I was waiting out the wonder
(Wait, wait, wait, wait)
Won't let the wait take me under
The answer's in reflection
I'm rising up (I'm rising up)
The truth is gonna find me
I'm rising up (I'm rising up)
The answer's in reflection
I'm rising up (I'm rising up)
Know the truth is right behind me
I'm rising up (I'm rising up)
The answer's in reflection
(Get to know it, get to know it)
Oh, the truth is gonna find me
(Get to know it, get to know it)
I'm rising up
(Get to know it, get to know it)
Ah-ah-ah (Get to know it, get to know it)
I'm gonna learn
Get to know it
There
are a few themes that can be interpreted from Moonchild's song "Get to Know It". The first is the act of embracing change, accepting and facing the unknown. The singer has run from whatever is ahead of her for far too long, and now she knows that she needs to stop fleeing and start prioritizing the thing she's been running from. The lyrics "I was waiting out the wonder, won't let the wait take me under" implies that she feels like uncertain things are chasing her and the weight of that expectation is causing anxiety. But by exploring it, "get to know it," she can now fully accept and grow from experiences that are yet to come.
Another theme lying in the lyrics is the idea of self-discovery. Through introspection, the singer is learning things about herself that she never realized before, driving her to discover the answers within. She is accepting who she is and who she wants to be, and in doing so, she knows she has to face whatever challenge is presented.
The chorus "The answer's in reflection, I'm rising up, the truth is gonna find me" implies that she has the strength to face what scares her. She's realizing that she won't find answers if she keeps running and that there's something in her that's strong enough to confront the unknown. This song essentially acknowledges that overcoming our fears takes time and effort, that it's okay to feel scared and overwhelmed, but that once we learn to confront and get to know what we're running from, we rise up and take control.

Soon as I saw the post, jumped on it 'cause this group is my favorite. But once that groove kicked in and Amber's sultry voice breathed life into the track - I smiled because "they did it again!" Best group out today with the most beautiful, soulful music.
