God Save the Queen
Motörhead Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

God save the Queen
A fascist regime
They made you a moron
Potential H-bomb

God save the Queen
She ain't no human being
And there's no future
In England's dreaming

Tell me something, do what you wanted
Tell me nothing, do what you need
There's no future, no future
No future for you

God save the Queen
We mean it, man
We love our Queen
God save

God save the Queen
'Cause tourists are money
And our figurehead
Is not what she seems

God save history
God save your mad pride
Oh Lord God, have mercy
All crimes are paid

When there's no future, they can't keep saying
We're the snake and we're done right in
We're poison of the human machine
We're the future, your future

God save the Queen
We mean it, man
We love our Queen
God saves

God save the Queen
We mean it, man
And there's no future
In England's dreaming

No future, no future
No future for you
No future, no future
No future for me

No future, no future
No future for you

No future, no future

Overall Meaning

The song "God Save the Queen" by Motörhead is a highly controversial and politically charged composition. The lyrics criticize the British monarchy and their control over the British people, referring to the Queen as the figurehead of a fascist regime. The song suggests that the monarchy holds no value to humanity and that dreaming of a future for England is futile. The band argues that the Queen is not what she seems and that England is only interested in tourist money. The song highlights the frustration of the working-class youth in the UK, who believes that they have no future and no voice in society.

The line "They made you a moron, potential H-bomb" refers to how the British people are indoctrinated and brainwashed by the government and the media, which the band believes is dangerous. The song argues that there is no future in England's dreaming, which means that dreaming of a better future for England is useless. Instead, the song suggests that the youth of England need to take control of their future and demand change.

Overall, "God Save the Queen" is a call to action for the youth of the UK to take control of their future and demand change. The song critiques the UK government and the British monarchy, suggesting that they hold no value to humanity and that their control over the people is nothing more than a fascist regime.

It's been said so many times.
Lemmy is, was, whichever you may you want to look at it, is the absolute GOD of rock'n'roll.
Nobody ever will match this man for the "passion" that he brought to rock n roll. I don't even think that he realized, himself, the incredible influence he had on the world around him. He was way too humble to think about it.
I'm going to finish this spiel by saying what everybody already knows....
Lemmy was the "GOD" of rock n roll. Even all his contemporaries ( Ozzy, Dio, Blackmore, etc...) would never argue that point. They, themselves, would proclaim Lemmy as being Rock n Roll's God I'm sure.
We miss you so much Lemmy, it's like we were left without a leader.
Much love and adoration..
I'll see you sometime soon bro...
And there will be "Voices in the sky"
Loving fan always and forever.
