Mr Twin Sister Lyrics

rise up and disappear from me
Fill my cup, now that I've had two or three,
I can get a little free
It feels good, to celebrate the loss of my independence
I'm in the mood, to let the rhythm push me out of my head
(You're the one)
I'm lit up, dancing in my room alone
I lock my door and turn off my phone
Fill my cup, now that I've had three or four,
I could use a couple more
It feels good, to tune out from the wrongs
of the world around me I'm in the mood,
to let the warm embrace of my cup surround me
(You're the one)
I forget my problems, you can wake me when you solve 'em
I forget my problems, you can wake me when you solve 'em
I forget my problems, you can wake me when you solve 'em
I forget my problems, you can wake me when you solve 'em
I'm fucked up, but I think I could have some more if
I could get myself off the floor
Spilled my cup, the room is tipping to and fro,
my mind is moving kinda slow
I know I should, break out of these walls
I have built around me
If only I could, face up to the world
let the truth surround me
(You're the one)
I forget my problems, you can wake me when you solve 'em
I forget my problems, you can wake me when you solve 'em
I forget my problems, you can wake me when you solve 'em
I forget my problems, you can wake me when you solve 'em
(You're the one)
The lyrics to Mr Twin Sister's song In the House of Yes hint at the escapism that one can experience through alcohol, and how it can be both freeing and destructive. The repeated line "fill my cup" emphasizes the seeking of temporary pleasure and distraction from one's problems. The singer, perhaps feeling trapped in their own thoughts and emotions, finds solace in tuning out and becoming lost in the music and alcohol. The feeling of being "in the mood, to let the rhythm push me out of my head" suggests a desire to forget and let loose, even if it means losing control.
As the song progresses, we see the consequences of this escapism. The singer becomes progressively more intoxicated, eventually losing control and spilling their cup. The realization that they "know [they] should break out of these walls [they] have built around [them]" suggests a self-awareness of the destructive nature of their behavior. However, they still struggle to face the truth and the world around them, clinging to the temporary relief that alcohol provides.
Overall, the lyrics of "In the House of Yes" paint a poignant picture of the allure and dangers of escapism through alcohol. It highlights the cyclical nature of addiction and the struggle to break free from its hold.

God damn... I'm...I.. I just can't explain what this song does to me... Top fucking notch, Fucking everything.
This was on my Spotify in recommended and I was driving when it came on... I got instant goosebumps once that bass came in, almost wrecked getting lost in it, and I haven't stopped listening to this shit since. Takes me back to the 90's when dance music was dance music! ...so good!
I swear I remember Carl Cox playing this in one of his sets... Can anyone validate that?
