Charlie Rich tore up rock'a billy, jazz, country, blues and every other genre he touched with soul vigor and a voice that never quit. He is a musician's musician on par with the great Ray Charles. Charlie was a great song writer and singer. I remember seeing him live at Hernando's Hideaway and other out of the way venues in the Memphis area when he was young. What a great experience. Not any like him around today.

Hernando's Hideaway, small place but big fun. I was an Elvis Tribute Artist in the 90's and was paired with a Rockabilly band from New York. Jerry Lee Lewis's ex brother in law (he was married to Linda Gail Lewis years ago) booked us to play 3 shows a night for 5 nights, during Elvis week. A great time had by all.

Charlie Rich was considered the greatest talent ever to walk into Sun Records. He didn't fit easily into any category, favoring jazz over the kind of hits Sam Phillips had in mind for him. In the 70s he finally became a superstar and you couldn't go anywhere without hearing "Behind Closed Doors" or "The Most Beautiful Girl." But I think this is him at his best.

R.I.P. Bobby Blue Bland, the guy that wrote this song. Both these guys defied convention in their respective genres. Bobby Blue Bland was a mix of black soul/ and white "Sinatra" type vocals. Charlie Rich was a guy who was half country singer/half soul singer. Two amazing people. Both versions are incredible.

Looks as if we are all Charlie Rich's favs out there. I'm looking for one of his best ( in my own opinion but there are many more. His song is titled "There won't be anymore." The song is located on teensoundman's youtube listing. It is not as it appears...it is Charlie Rich singing but I am having a difficult time attempting to figure out what the title of this song actually is. I love the song and would like to purchase it somewhere along with Raggedy Ann that he sang. Thanks much for anyhelp

Charlie Rich could out sing Elvis, They both had contracts with Sun Record at the same time, This song was written about 1960, and Elvis was doing his own music then. Besides I think Elvis wouldn't have recorded this back then.
