1) Must started when Australian-born Dave Ireland moved to London and met wandering drummer Reuben Alexander. Ireland convinced Alexander to work with him at a club one night, which resulted in a three-day party that ended with the two musicians jamming. They auditioned countless bassists until finally German transplant Kai Lemke filled the spot. They gigged around London and were met enthusiastically by rock fans, although the dominant dance scene in the town often overshadowed their efforts. Their first wide release, 2002's Androgynous Jesus, was also the first opportunity they had to present their music outside of Britain.

One Night Stand
Must Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Naked in your living room
Straddling your hips
And losing it over you?
We could do it all night
If you think you're man enough.?
Well I looked her in the eye and I said,
?pretty little thing, you read my mind
I came here looking for a girl of your kind
For a one night stand to be satisfied.?
She said, ?i've got the urge alright
And I want to let it ride
Tonight, tonight, tonight.
C'mon show me that you're worthy,
Show me that you want me bad enough.?
Well your seething look of lust dictates
She is the love of my life
And we like to play games at night
To act like strangers
To let fantasy run wild
To use the imagination
In a fornicating playground high
The lyrics to Must's song "One Night Stand" depict a scene of sexual desire and lust between two people who are in search of a no-strings-attached, one night stand experience. The female character offers herself up to the male character, asking if he would like to see her naked in his living room, straddling his hips, and losing herself over him. She offers the possibility of a night full of pleasure and satisfaction, telling him that they could do it all night if he thinks he's man enough.
The male character responds by telling her that she read his mind and suggests they head back to his place. He confesses that he came to this place looking for a girl like her with whom he can have a one night stand and feel satisfied. As they get physical, the lyrics continue to describe their lustful desires and how they enjoy playing games at night to act like strangers, use their imaginations and have thrilling experiences.
The lyrics of "One Night Stand" are quite explicit about the characters' sexual desires, their pleasure-seeking intentions, and the temporary nature of their encounter. The song aims to highlight the excitement and anticipation that come with spontaneous, passionate encounters with strangers.
