Uh uh uh uh
Vuélveme piedra
Ah ah ah ah
Vuélveme piedra
The lyrics of Nadia's song Piedra express the deep pain and longing of someone who has been hurt by love. The singer pleads with the heavens to make them into an inanimate object, a stone, so that they no longer feel the pain of their beloved's absence. The singer wants to become a stone in order to avoid feeling the emotional turmoil of the heartache. The use of the phrase "piedra en una piedra", or "stone on top of a stone" is an interesting metaphor that emphasizes the singer's desire for complete emotional numbness. Additionally, the phrase "un hada mala", or "a bad fairy" suggests that the singer wishes for a magical solution, rather than facing their pain head-on.
The repeated plea to become stone, "Vuélveme piedra", highlights the depth of the singer's desperation. To be transformed into a stone means that they would no longer need to feel the absence of their beloved, and that their heart would no longer hold hope for reconciliation. The singer also wishes to forget completely, asking that the stone erase all traces of their love for their ex-lover. The line "y ante sus besos no caiga presa", or "and not fall captive to his kisses" further emphasizes the desire for a complete emotional disconnect.
Overall, Nadia's song Piedra is a poignant representation of the deeply felt pain that comes with heartbreak.

Como quisiera
I wish
Que en este instante
That in this moment
Un hada mala apareciera
An evil fairy would appear
Para retarla y que me convirtiera
To challenge her and turn me
En piedra en una piedra
Into stone, into one rock
Que aquí en mi pecho
That in my chest
Un corazon ya no sintiera
I no longer feel a heart
To spare my good soul from this pain
Al cielo exclamo
I cry out to the sky
Y le reclamo
And I demand
Vuélveme piedra
Turn me into stone
I do not wish to suffer his absence for another day
That when night comes and its stars shine
Ya no me duela
It will no longer hurt me
Y no lo quiera
And I will not want him
So that time erases all of his marks on me
Para que sea indiferente a sus promesas
So that I am indifferent to his promises
Y ante sus besos no caiga presa
And do not fall prey to his kisses
Uh uh uh uh
Ah ah ah ah
