Fun fact: when Hurricane Katrina struck, Mr. T helped with the cleanup efforts and stopped wearing his gold, saying it would be insensitive and disrespectful to wear gold while others were suffering. Also the reason behind his unique getup was that he didn’t want poor kids to be embarrassed with the hand-me-down clothes they got.

Being from Pittsburgh, Mr. Rogers’s influence is everywhere. My mom actually met him when she was in college in the 80s. She and a friend ran into him in a grocery store, when they approached him, he smiled and said “are you my neighbors?” And was happy to talk to them. He really was who we think he was.
