Lost in a Dream
Night Lyrics

And keep it in your sight
Failing to take control
The rythm of the night
I want to make believe
The creatures that you see
Reasons to make you feel
Like something isn't what it seems
I've been lost in a dream
Like a tale that is real
Come on and see it with me
And where I'm bound to be
I've been lost in a dream
Trying to make you believe
What it is I have seen
And where I'm bound to be
Whisper into the night
To guide you with the wind
Say that you're doing fine
And show me from within
Wish from a broken bone
To let me get to you
I'll let you call the shots
If it doesn't get you too
I've been lost in a dream
Like a tale that is real
Come on and see it with me
And where I'm bound to be
I've been lost in a dream
Trying to make you believe
What it is I have seen
And where I'm bound to be
The lyrics of Night's song "Lost in a Dream" convey a sense of longing and confusion, as the singer grapples with trying to find their way and maintain control in a turbulent situation. The opening lines, "Trying to see the way / And keep it in your sight / Failing to take control / The rhythm of the night," suggest a struggle to find clarity and maintain stability. The use of the phrase "the rhythm of the night" alludes to the unpredictable nature of life's challenges that the singer is facing.
The next lines, "I want to make believe / The creatures that you see / Reasons to make you feel / Like something isn't what it seems," express a desire to create a sense of wonder and imagination, perhaps as a way to distract from the hardships or uncertainties. The singer seeks to convince others to question their perceptions, highlighting the idea that things may not always be as they appear.
The chorus, "I've been lost in a dream / Like a tale that is real / Come on and see it with me / And where I'm bound to be," emphasizes the idea of being lost in a dreamlike state, where reality and fantasy blur together. The singer invites others to join them on this journey, inviting them to witness their experiences and discover where their path may lead.
In the second verse, the lyrics shift to focus on whispers and guidance. The line, "Whisper into the night / To guide you with the wind," suggests seeking solace in the darkness and relying on intuition to navigate through the unknown. The singer longs for reassurance that everything is okay, urging someone to affirm their well-being and reveal their true emotions from within.
The lyrics continue with a poignant line, "Wish from a broken bone / To let me get to you," symbolizing a deep desire to connect and understand someone on a profound level, even in the face of pain or vulnerability. The singer relinquishes control, allowing the other person to take the lead, as long as it doesn't cause harm.
Overall, "Lost in a Dream" reflects the complex emotions of yearning for clarity, seeking connection, and finding solace amidst confusion and uncertainty. It speaks to the human desire to navigate through life's challenges while also embracing the wonder and whimsy of the unknown.
