Nastasia has released six albums so far, the first of which, Dogs, was initially released in 2000 in a miniscule edition of 1000 copies on Socialist Records. The album sold out quickly and her subsequent albums, The Blackened Air (2001) and Run to Ruin (2003) were released on indie label Touch and Go Records. The label also re-released Dogs in 2004. All three albums were recorded by Steve Albini, as were later albums released on Fat Cat Records. These include On Leaving in 2006 and You Follow Me (produced in collaboration with Jim White) in 2007. Her sixth and most recent album, Outlaster, was also recorded by Steve Albini and was released in June 2010, preceded by the single Cry, Cry, Baby in May.
Nastasia was a favorite of late BBC disc jockey John Peel and recorded six sessions for his shows. The last one was recorded with the help of Tuvan throat singing group Huun-Huur-Tu. Nastasia also contributed a song to the tribute compilation for Peel named "Bird of Cuzco". Two of Nastasia's songs made Peel's annual Festive Fifty: "Ugly Face" (ranked 4th in 2002) and "You, Her & Me" (13th in 2003).

All For You
Nina Nastasia Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And I will make a lovely bed
Half across the moon so bright
Hangs a circle black as night
I can see the stars above
I can give it all up
Up to you
Dirty hands and dirty feet
And all and on our holding knees
Hold me 'til I'm drunk and dead
Or all the rain falls on my head
I can see the stars above
I can give it all up
Up to you
All for you
I can see the stars above
I can give it all up
Up to you
All for you
All for you
The lyrics of Nina Nastasia's "All For You" are open to interpretation, as is often the case with poetic lyrics that evoke emotion rather than a specific narrative. However, the song seems to express a sense of devotion and sacrifice, with the singer offering to do anything for her loved one.
The first verse sets the scene in a lonely or abandoned place, with the suggestion that the couple will make a cozy bed there. The image of the moon with a black circle suggests a sense of foreboding or darkness, but the singer seems to be willing to overlook that for the sake of her beloved.
The second verse speaks of physical intimacy and an almost desperate desire for closeness, even to the point of being willing to endure rain falling on her head. The repeated refrain of "All for you" emphasizes the singer's commitment to doing whatever it takes to make her loved one happy and fulfilled.
Overall, the lyrics of "All for You" convey a sense of total surrender to a powerful love, even in the face of challenges or difficulties.
