1) Not yet is a sub-unit derived from Japanese idol group AKB48 from Tokyo, Japan, including the four members Oshima Yuko, Kitahara Rie, Sashihara Rino and Yokoyama Yui. The unit released their first single on March 16th, 2011 titled "Shuumatsu Not yet" (週末Not yet).
According to producer Akimoto Yasushi, he named the unit “Not yet” because their dancing and singing aren’t that good yet, meaning they still have potential to develop into something great.
2) not yet (spelled lower case) is a Hungarian rock band conceived by Balázs Tõgyi (vocals, guitar) and Gergõ Gelsei (vocals, bass) in 2002, Eger, Hungary. While having been heavily influenced by the classic progressive sound of King Crimson, Jethro Tull and Genesis at the outset, the group has gradually expanded their scope of songwriting blending etno, jazz and pop elements.
After a few changes in the inital line-up and the founders' having moved to Budapest, László Zagyva (drums) and Dániel Szücs (flute, guitar, vocals) joined in 2003, and before long the group came up with the name "not yet" (as far as the urban legend goes, when Gergő Gelsei was asked whether the name had been settled yet, his immediate answer was "not yet", and, to his infinate sorrow, the name stuck). The formation didn't change until the autumn of 2007, when Janó Nemes (flute, vocals, saxophone) replaced Daniel Szücs in the woodwind department.
Having recorded songs by Jethro Tull, King Crimson and a few originals in 2004 and 2005 on the Small Talk and not yet albums respectively, the band published the first set of elaborate songs a year later in 2006 on fakir hobby (private edition, cover and in-lay designed by László Zagyva). The album incorporates various styles, ranging from the folkish 'A hangember', the jazzy 'No para', through the nonsensical 'A homlokom!' and the twisted 12-bar blues 'Fakir hobby' to 'Vera' and 'A végfok', two of the most complex songs which show influences of King Crimson, Radiohead and even britpop, supplemented by Hackettish guitar sound and intricate drums.
Nomen est omen: until the parting with Daniel Szücs the band never gained popularity and performed live scarcely, even though in 2005 they played before Quimby for a few times. The refreshing impact of the recent appearance of Janó Nemes, a renowned underground flutist may be a charge-up both musically and on a personal level, thrusting not yet towards its well-deserved wider acknowledgement.

These lyrics, from the song "ハグ友" by Not yet, speak to the deep bond and support between two friends. The first verse describes a moment of disappointment when the singer tries to reach out to their friend through voicemail and multiple emails but receives no response. The singer is feeling down and notes that this behavior is out of character for their friend. In times when the singer is feeling low, this friend has always been there to quickly come to their side, offering encouragement and saying, "Everything will be okay." This friend has become their "マイフレンド" (my friend) and is willing to give them a hug when they meet.
The second verse expresses the understanding and familiarity between the two friends. Despite putting on a brave face and saying, "I'm okay," the singer's friend sees through their act because they have been together since childhood. The friend notices the traces of tears and offers to listen to the singer's sadness, reminding them that they will find a way to overcome it. In this way, they share each other's pain and become two halves of one whole, supporting each other through life's trials. The singer emphasizes that being weak is natural for humans, and they want their friend not to act tough in front of them because they are their closest confidant.
The chorus repeats the sentiment of offering a hug and telling the friend not to hold back their tears or even their runny nose. The singer wants them to rely on the friendship they share because they believe they are true friends who can share everything. The lyrics continue to express that no matter what, the friendship will not fade away or be replaced by anyone else. The line "2人は鏡よ" (we are mirrors) suggests that they reflect each other's thoughts, feelings, and experiences, understanding each other as if they were looking into a mirror.
Overall, these lyrics beautifully portray the unbreakable bond between two friends, their unconditional support, and the deep understanding they have developed over the years. It emphasizes the importance of being there for each other, sharing both the joys and the sorrows in life, and cherishing the unique connection they have.
