Talk Tonight
Oasis feat. Paul Weller Lyrics

Sittin' on my own, chewin' on a bone
A thousand million miles from home
When something hit me
Somewhere right between the eyes
Sleepin' on a plane, you know you can't complain
You took your last chance once again
I landed, stranded
Hardly even knew your name

I wanna talk tonight
Until the mornin' light
'Bout how you saved my life
You and me see how we are
You and me see how we are

All your dreams are made of strawberry lemonade
And you make sure I eat today
You take me walking
To where you played when you were young
I'll never say that I won't ever make you cry
And this I'll say, I don't know why
I know I'm leavin'
But I'll be back another day

I wanna talk tonight
Until the mornin' light
'Bout how you saved my life
(You saved my life)
I wanna talk tonight
(I wanna talk tonight)
'Bout how you saved my life
(I wanna talk tonight)
'Bout how you saved my life
(I wanna talk tonight)
'Bout how you saved my life
(I wanna talk tonight)
'Bout how you saved my life
(I wanna talk tonight)

(I wanna talk tonight)
(I wanna talk tonight)
(I wanna talk tonight)

@Jusliu829 my apologies. Due to tone being missing from a comment I was taking the p155 out of the original comment about hoping they get back together. Dry humour that gets lost in the written word.... Or I'm just not very good at it. I've seen Weller a few times. Not really a fan of The Jam nor The Style Council. Wild Wood, Stanley Road and Heavy Soul are my favourite.

Check out his set on Southbank, I think it was 97. Phenomenal.

Also, Whirlpools End on Jools Holland. Look at the face Steve White makes as he thinks the song is coming to a close..... Then the realisation that they're all on fire and they jam a bit more.

I think I made a comment on that video too about how the string section really adds to the performance.... And how Morrisey has calmed down since he played the trumpet.... You'll spot it and see what I mean, you may have already seen it.

Edit you may have seen the video... Not my comment on the video :)

Weller's accompaniment is spot-on. Knows just when to add his voice without taking anything away from Noel.

Well put.

@coolkidtv6276

Personally I didn't like the organ on this version.

@guttedEwok01

Fuck I see some dumb comments on here

@cool kidtv It would be better if Noel wasn’t as strummy strummy. It’s like Noel ain’t listening sometimes, this song is massively emotionally charged for him I understand that. I love how this whole performance feels like it’s about to fall apart, like the song suggests anyway. Weller’s got soul man. Two beautiful songsters battling it out together trying to make sense of shit bloody wonderful xxx

@Tom-se9ge

I’m 21 and this and oasis tunes are the only tunes that seem relevant atm, absolutely timeless

@luciustitius

tom S Maybe you didn’t listen to some Paul Weller’s tunes - maybe start with his Wild Wood, The Jam’s “That’s Entertainment” and The Style Council’s “My Ever Changing Moods”. Great musician. There would maybe be no Oasis without him.

@stallion157

Tom s I'm 35 so lived through it. You've got great taste in music.
