En l'antiga llengua d'on vam heretar
En l'antiga llengua d'on vam heretar
The lyrics of Obrint Pas's song "Temps difícils" describes the difficult and uncertain times that the people are going through, especially during the nights when they rest and prepare for tomorrow. The town waits for what's to come and all is silent. The mornings are characterized by fog which symbolizes obscurity and confusion. The fields that are plowed are reminiscent of ancient chains that were never cut, which may allude to the people's struggle against oppressive systems. The evenings are filled with rain that floods the cities and that leads to quiet faces and overwhelmed hearts. The song then refers to the “antiga llengua d'on vam heretar” or the old language from which they inherited the words that each represent a world to choose or win.
The chorus of the song is powerful and urges the people to open every front, to sing songs, and to have hope in order to conquer fear. "Només l'esperança pot vèncer la por. Tornen temps difícils, tornen temps de por. Tornen temps de lluita, de ràbia i amor." Here, the song speaks of the difficult times that have returned, as only hope can overcome fear. These times are characterized by struggle, anger, and love - all necessary elements to fight for what is right.
Overall, the song is a call to action, urging people to stay strong, to keep fighting, and to remain hopeful in difficult times. It is a reminder that the struggle for freedom and justice is ongoing, and that we must not give up in the face of adversity.
