To get you in the mood
Show me what do I do
To make you see that I'm the one
The one who makes you feel like standing up to dance
I'll make you dance come strangers giving up the chance
Darling am the one oh
Am the one am the one am the one
Am the one
My sugar babe
Am the one am the one am the one
Am the one
Tell me what does it take
To get you in the mood
Show me what do I do
To make you see that I'm the one
The one who makes you feel like standing up to dance
I'll make you dance come strangers giving up the chance
Darling am the one oh
Am the one am the one am the one

The lyrics of Onyeka Onwenu's "Am The One" are about a person expressing their desire to be recognized as the one who can make their love interest feel good and dance. The singer asks what it takes to get the other person in the mood and what they need to do to make them see that they're the one. They assert that they're the only one who can make their love interest feel like dancing and that even strangers would give up a chance to dance with them. The repetition of "am the one," emphasizes the singer's point that they are the right person for their love interest, and they'll be waiting for them to acknowledge it.
The lyrics may seem simple, but they convey the confidence of someone who is sure about their attractiveness and capabilities. The singer's message is clear: they want to be appreciated and recognized for what they can offer. The words "sugar babe" and "sugar guy" add a touch of endearment to the lyrics, making it clear that the singer is addressing someone they have affection for. The use of "a furu m gi n'anya" suggests that the song has an Igbo origin, a Nigerian language.

on Ekwe
That interpretation is rubbish! It's a diss song in regards to her ex husband. Yes, Ekwe means drum or loud noise, or even a call to arms( not in the battle sense, think town crier announcement). In this case her ex's name could have Ekwe in it or she's likening his relentless pursuit to win her back to a loud annoying noise that follows her everywhere she goes. Stop interpreting unless you know what the words actually mean. It's unethical!
