The band was formed in 2004. Although they managed to make some public appearances, shot a couple of music videos, and released a demo version of their debut album 'Ego', the band couldn't really fit in the Far East music scene. In 2006 they moved to Saint-Petersburg where they could get more recognition.
The original line-up consisted of Michael Draw (vocals, lyrics) and Marie Slip (composition, arrangement). During 2018-2019 Marie Slip gradually reduced his involmement with the band and finally left due to losing interest in making music. Then Otto Dix's live guitarist Michael Interio (from Nattramnar Skal'd) stepped forward as the new composer for the band. His style tends to be more guitar-oriented. Michael Draw still remained the centerpiece and lyricist of the band .
In summer 2022 Michael Interio left Otto Dix due to personal differences, and the "Lucifer's Effect" album that was nearly completed could not be released because of copyright issues. Nevertheless, a totally new album "Vantablack" was released in April 2023. The music for the album was almost solely composed by Michael Draw.
Other past members include Peter Voronov (electro-violin) who worked with the band from 2008 to 2013. A Russian drummer by pseudonim Paul Kristofferson was, too, an official band member for some time. The band also collaborated with a number of Russian and European musicians (Elisabat Muse, Stoneman, etc.)
