Workin' from seven to eleven every night
Really makes life a drag
I don't think that's right
I've really been the best, the best of fools
I did what I could, yeah
'Cause I love you, baby
How I love you, darling
How I love you, baby
My beloved little girl, little girl
But baby, since I've been loving you, yeah
I'm about to lose my, my worried mind, oh yeah

Everybody trying to tell me
That you didn't mean me no good
I've been trying, Lord, let me tell you
Let me tell you, I really did the best I could
I've been, I've been working from seven to eleven every night
I said, it kinda makes my life a drag, drag, drag, drag
Lord, yeah, that ain't right, now, now
Since I've been loving you
I'm about to lose my worried mind, yeah
Watch out

Said I've been crying, yeah
Oh, my tears they fell like rain
Don't you hear them, don't you hear them falling?
Don't you hear them, don't you hear them falling?

Do you remember, mama, when I knocked upon your door?
I said you had the nerve to tell me
You didn't want me no more, yeah
I open my front door, hear my back door slam
You know, I must have one of them new fangled
New fangled back door man
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

I've been working from seven, seven, seven to eleven every night
It kinda makes my life a drag, a drag, drag
Ah, yeah, it makes a drag
Baby, since I've been loving you
I'm about to lose
I'm about to lose, lose my worried mind

Just one more, just one more, oh yeah
Since I've been loving you, I'm gonna lose my worried mind

Overall Meaning

"Since I've Been Loving You" is a classic blues-rock song written by the famous English rock band Led Zeppelin. The song is all about the struggles of loving someone who doesn't love you back. The lyrics are full of heartache and pain, expressing the singer's feelings of being used and abandoned by the one he loves. The song opens with the singer discussing how working long hours makes life a drag, indicating his level of exhaustion and fatigue. He then goes on to express his loyalty and devotion to the person he loves, even though she doesn't reciprocate his feelings.

The chorus is a repetition of the phrase "since I've been loving you," referencing how the singer's life has changed since he's been in love with this person. He sings about how he's about to lose his mind because of the emotional pain he's experiencing. Throughout the song, he references the people around him telling him that the love he has for this woman isn't returned, but he continues to struggle with his love and pain.

I have met Robert P on about 6 unplanned occasions. In hotels, on trains and in bars. But never spoke to him. Even tho he was less than 1m away. Next time, and I’m sure there will be a ‘next time’ what shall I ask him…? 🤫🇬🇧🙏🏻🛎️

Greatest blues song done by a rock band in history. You can practically hear the pain in Pages guitar and the other players too. Of course Robert Plant is just the cream on the top. If remember, I think it was 1969, nobody had heard of Led and they were playing Cleveland. I was just milling arouind in the front rows, there were only about 100 people there, and BANG, they hit the stage with Communications Breakdown. It literally blew us into our seats because the wall of Marshall amps. By the end everyone was exhausted and sweating and shit. I'll never forget that night.
