It's out there all alone
Left it on the table where it was
Keep the car
The keys are in the front
It's out there on the street right where I parked
And I know I don't know much
It's a fleeting urge to run
Like a bird flying by on a summer breeze
Like the sound of a train if you're listening
It just fades in
Then it disappears
Mark the map
Pack a couple bags
Dream myself a ticket
Don't come back
And I know I don't know much
But I know that a man feels many things
It's a fleeting urge to run
Like a bird flying by on a summer breeze
Like the sound of a train if you're listening
It just fades in
Then it disappears
If I could disappear
You don't have to know why you're going
Just why it is you want to leave
If I disappear
You don't have to know where you're going
Just where it is you want to be
You don't have to know where you're going
Just where it is you want to be
And I know I don't know much
But I know that a man feels many things
It's a fleeting urge to run
Like a bird flying by on a summer breeze
Like the sound of a train if you're listening
It just fades in
Then it disappears
Walk away
Leave it all behind
Dream up the escape
But never try
The song "Disappear" by Parachute speaks about the temptation to run away from one's current life and start anew, without any specific destination or plan in mind. The lyrics suggest leaving everything behind, be it personal possessions or people, for the sake of disappearing and starting again. The song suggests that while the reasons for wanting to start over may be intense, they are fleeting, much like the urge to run away. The lyrics liken the desire to disappear as being similar to the disappearing sound of a train, which fades away effortlessly, implying that it would be just as easy for a person to vanish and never return.
The chorus emphasizes that there may not be a clear reason for wanting to escape or a specific place to go; one should only focus on where they want to be without getting too caught up in logistics. The song's verses suggest that a person's possessions, such as a phone or car, could symbolize a desire to cut ties with the present life, while choosing to mark a map or pack bags would represent the eagerness to start anew.
