In 1974 and 1975, she recorded for Avco Records, and, in 1981, recorded for Plantation Records, her most recent record label. Page's most recent single to appear on any Billboard chart was the 1982 #80 country single, "My Man Friday". (She last appeared on the pop chart in 1968, with her version of O.C. Smith's hit, "Little Green Apples", and on the Adult Contemporary chart with "Give Him Love" in 1971.)
Page made the country chart in up to 1983, with her biggest hit during that time being "Hello, We're Lonely," a 1973 #14 duet with Tom T. Hall.
In the 1990s, Page started her own label, C.A.F. Records. In 1998, she won a Grammy as "Best Traditional Pop Singer". Page continued to record into the new millenium with the CDs BRAND NEW TENNESSEE WALTZ, SWEET SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS (2002), CHILD OF MINE (2003) and her last 2009 release BEST OF COUNTRY. Many of her songs have a strong beat to them that prelude rock 'n' roll. These titles include "Mister and Mississippi", "Detour" and "Cross Over the Bridge". In 1956, she married choreographer Charles O'Curran. They adopted two children, a daughter, Kathleen, and a son, Daniel O'Curran.

And the huggin' gets so strong that it's gotcha scared to death
Most people get married (married)
That's what they do-o-o
Most people get married (married)
And that's what I want to do with you
When you only want to walk (let's walk) together
Only want to touch (let's touch) too much
You never want to say "Good night"
Most people get married (married)
That's what they do-o-o
I-I-I want to get married (married)
An' I only want to do it to you
When you light up like a flame each time your baby calls
And the way he says your name has gotcha climbin' walls
Most people get married (married)
That's what they do-o-o
Most people get married (married)
And that's what I want to do with you
When you're feelin' in your heart (doo-wop), what I feel
Reelin' in your heart (doo-wop) like I reel
An' you want to shout (you shout) "Look out,
Somethin's gotta give tonight"
Most people get married (married)
That's what they do-o-o
I-I-I want to get married (married)
An' I only want to do it to you
I-I-I want to get married
An' I hope you want to do it, too
The lyrics of Patti Page's song "Most People Get Married" convey the desire to take a relationship to the next level of commitment. The opening lines are about the physical intimacy between two people that culminate into a deep emotional bond. The singer mentions how most people opt for marriage when they experience this feeling. Thus, indicating that the natural course of deepening a relationship is getting married. The following lines describe how being together and doing the littlest things with a partner becomes enjoyable, to the point where it's difficult to say goodnight.
The subsequent lines reiterate the idea that most people choose to get married when they're in a relationship of mutual understanding and deep affection. This verse also indicates how the chemistry between the partners leads to a feeling of excitement, and the intensity of passion has them climbing walls. The chorus is a repeated chorus that maintains how most people get married, and the singer wants to get married to one special person. The final verse describes the feelings of the singer's heart and wants to express it confidently. The singer hopes that the significant other feels the same way and would like to get married too.

This is a cute song. I recently listened to the 80s remake she did for Plantation Records. The originals are usually better. But some remakes are still enjoyable. RIP Patti Page.

This is a good song and so true. Most of my pals of childhood and teenage years married indeed. Now I have been married 34 years. It is better to have someone to share our successes our failures, and life too.
