The Color Changin' Click signed with Paid in Full Entertainment, a record label owned by the Madd Hatta, and released Get Ya Mind Correct in 2002. It was an instant hit in Houston, selling over 200,000 copies independently and getting nominated by the Source as one of the finalists for the indie album of the year in 2002.
However, disputes over money and artistic direction led to friction between Paul and Cham. They were set to release their second album, Controversy Sells, but the lingering issues led the group to split before the album saw the light of day. Controversy Sells did eventually get released in 2004. Paul decided to return to Swishahouse, while Cham started his own label, Chamillitary Entertainment. His younger brother Rasaq, Yung Ro, 50/50 Twin, and OG Ron C are signed to the label.
While Chamillionaire and Paul Wall have since ended any friction toward each other (after performing Ridin' on BET's 106 & Park, Chamillionaire confirmed that he and Paul Wall had settled all problems towards each other, citing that it had taken "so long" to get to where they were in their success), Chamillionaire has contemplated working with his estranged business partner again and even touring together.

[Paul Wall]
I'm not the type that likes to think about the times I was broke
Reminisce on how everybody thought my rhymes was a joke
I played if fair while competitors were buying their vote
They talk about I owe them somethin, but they the ones that's holdin me back
They the same people bringing me down
That's why anytime I hop up on the mic there ain't no holding me back
Watch I show ya'll the meaning of clown
Until I'm under the ground
They won't disrespect or slander my name
It takes more than a strong mind to handle the fame
I'm walking one path in this broad, scandalous game
If you don't have an umbrella don't stand in the rain
It gets deep boys losing they life cause of their rappin
Get jacked lose their car cause of their cappin
A lot of cats exaggerate things that they lackin
But I'm real baby ain't no actin, just real action
[Chorus: Chamillionaire singing]
Seems Only Times When I'm Balling Balling Balling Balling
Foreigns, Lacs Are Crawling, Now Hood Rats Are Calling
My Stacks Is Tall and To Them Baps and Frauds But Hey
Where Was You At The Other Day
Never See Myself, Falling Falling Falling Falling
Picture Me Falling Off from Rappin Back To Starving
No Lacs Or Foreigns, Gucci Hats Or Jordans Hey
I Couln't Ever See The Day-ay-ay
The Other Day by Paul Wall and Chamillionaire is a song that portrays the journey of these two artists in the music industry. The song begins with Watts representing his hometown, Houston, and asking listeners to get Southern Classic, their previous album. Paul Wall, in his verse, starts by reminiscing about how he managed to rise from a broke artist, whose rhymes nobody took seriously. He emphasizes how he gained his success, playing fair. The artist also talks of how his competitors purchased votes, but despite this, he never cried, he simply learned to cope with such challenges. Moreover, Paul Wall sheds light on the people around him who think he owes them something and are holding him back. He emphasizes his resilience and commitment to staying true to himself, even in the challenging journey to success.
Chamillionaire takes the chorus of the song, where he talks about the glamor associated with success. He talks about how foreign cars and women come calling. However, he also mentions how he never forgets where he came from and often wonders where people who never believed in him were "the other day" when he was struggling. The artist states that he could never see himself falling back to the life he had before his success. The song carries a message that success comes with its ups and downs and that artists should remain true to their identity, no matter the obstacles in their way.
