DeAnda was born in San Angelo, Texas, to Mexican American parents Steven and Barbara, a restaurant general manager and a registered nurse, respectively. At age six she began taking piano lessons and was soon singing at functions around town at the recommendation of her piano teacher.[5] She also sang the national anthem at local football games. In 2002, DeAnda's family decided to move to Corpus Christi in order to help advance her career in music since Corpus Christi had a reputation as a music hub.[6] She attended Mary Carroll High School.
DeAnda was the opening act for a concert which featured hip-hop artists, Nelly, Baby Bash and Frankie J. performing in front of twenty thousand people.[1][6] Her first single, "What Would It Take" was serviced to local radio stations in July, received airplay from ten radio stations across the country. Her next single "Doing Too Much" was released in December. It was then that she got the opportunity to audition for Clive Davis who signed her for a seven-album deal with Arista Records on the spot.
"Doing Too Much" served as the lead single to her self-titled debut album which was released in the summer of 2006, and charted in the Top50 of the Billboard Hot 100. It was later was certified gold in the US in 2007. Paula DeAnda charted at #54 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album mainly consists of songs about love and relationships and is of the pop-R&B genre. DeAnda co-wrote four songs on the album, which features production from Happy Perez among others. She was only 16 years old at the time of the album's released. Her second single "Walk Away (Remember Me)" (written by Christina Milian and Ne-Yo) was her biggest hit, reaching the top twenty on the Hot 100. The single was certified gold by the RIAA, becoming her second single to do so. Follow-up singles from her debut included "When It Was Me" and "Easy" which the latter featured rapper Lil Wayne. She later appeared in the MTV television film Super Sweet 16: The Movie.
In 2008, DeAnda began production on next effort, initially due in 2009. A buzz single "Stunned Out" was released and garnered some airplay, but the set's lead single ended up being the ballad "Roll the Credits", which was released with a music video was planned. Clive Davis left Arista's parent company at the time, RCA Label Group in 2008 to become the chief creative officer for Sony BMG. DeAnda also parted ways Arista following his departure.

Yeah
Paula
Danger
I might be a young girl, but I know how to have fun
I got them boys chasing me, trying to make me the one
When I'm out shopping, it's like having a gun
I know I'm a hot, hot shorty
But you gotta slow down (slow down)
You don't know me (don't know me)
If you in a hot, hot hurry
You gotta go now (go now), back up off me (off me)
Oh, I got them going crazy, you see, uh oh
Head over heels for me, uh oh
Weak in the knees for me, boy, uh oh
Cause you so damn easy
Cause you so damn easy
Cause you so damn easy
Oh, I'm much wiser than you think that I act like, you know
Just because I'm a teen it don't mean that I'm slow
I think you're a cutie, boy, but you're turning me off
Sometimes you gotta play hard to get and then it's on
I know I'm a hot, hot shorty
But you gotta slow down
You don't know me
If you in a hot, hot hurry
You gotta go now, back up off me
Oh, I got them going crazy, you see, uh oh
Head over heels for me, uh oh
Weak in the knees for me, boy, uh oh
Cause you so damn easy
Cause you so damn easy
Cause you so damn easy
One day, wheezy
Baby, tonight's the night
And them girls are on me like white on rice
And I get them to the crib late, two on one
I'm already high, now it's you I want
Take a jet into the sunset, you won't come
Or sit in my Phantom and chew on gum
Baby, I can take you to and from
Ice up your little wrists till you're blue and numb, um
You're dealin' with a buster, mama
Young Wayne, Tony Montana
If I were you, I'd tell my homies "I'll holla"
And if your man ain't me, why bother?
I go by the name Carter, I got more plaques than tartar
I'm just checkin' out the charts on the charter
Number one spot: Wayne and Paula
Uh oh, got them going crazy, you see, uh oh
Head over heels for me, oh, uh oh
Weak in the knees for me, boy, uh oh
Cause you so damn easy
Uh oh, got them going crazy, you see, uh oh
Head over heels for me, oh, uh oh
Weak in the knees for me, boy, uh oh
Cause you so damn easy (no, no, no, no, no)
Don't be so damn easy
Don't be so damn easy
"Easy" is a song by American singer Paula DeAnda, featuring rapper Lil Wayne. The song was released as the lead single from DeAnda's self-titled debut album in 2006. In the song, Paula DeAnda is expressing how she is not just any girl and how she goes after whatever she wants. She warns men that just because she is young, it does not mean that they can take advantage of her or try to rush into things, as she is in control of her own life.
The song begins with DeAnda stating how she is a young girl who knows how to have fun and how she has several boys chasing her. She compares shopping to having a gun, and how she is capable of buying whatever she wants. The chorus then explains how these boys are going crazy for her, but she urges them to slow down and back off. Lil Wayne then comes in with his verse, talking about how he is interested in a woman who is different from the rest and how he can take care of her.
The song showcases DeAnda's strong vocal ability and Lil Wayne's unique rap style. The overall theme of the song is empowering, as it encourages young women to take control of their lives and not allow themselves to be taken advantage of.
