It had been five years since the fans of Mike Patton had first heard of the Peeping Tom project and the growing anticipation soon turned into skepticism, for fear the project would never see the light of day. Fans were also teased with the leaking of demos some of which were nearly identical to the finished product.
"I'd send out a track and start working on something else," said Patton, explaining the Peeping Tom delay. "You don't sit around for the mailman to come, you work on other shit. And that's what I did. It was really something I worked on over a period of several years that was in the background of my life."
Patton describes Peeping Tom as his take on pop music: "I don't listen to the radio, but if I did, this is what I'd want it to sound like. This is my version of pop music. In a way, this is an exercise for me: taking all these things I've learned over the years and putting them into a pop format. I've worked with many people who have said to me, 'oh you have a pop record in you, eventually you'll find it,' and I always laughed at them. I guess I owe them an apology."
There are at least more three bands with the name Peeping Tom:
2: Australian retro/stoner rock band
3: French trip-hop/electronic/electro-dub band
4: an English Rock Ceilidh band

3) Biography from http://en.elektrolink.com/artists/djs_composers/peeping_tom/ :
Step by step, the ever-changing collective Peeping Tom is building a galaxy of its own in the world of electro. A fascinating constellation revolving around the hard core of Vincent Haenni and Gabriel Scotti has recently been observed: live scores for synthesized images and real time projections, soundscapes accompanying public readings by French actor Carlo Brandt , electro-dub performances, completed by an interactive website where the visitors can try their hands at the genre. Plus, of course, a first CD (ICare/Saturn Split/db32). And now, Liquid Sand, taking the listener to the borders of elegant and sensual downbeat music, where twelve new planets are unveiled. Visiting various musical styles (jazz, ambient, dub) as well as literary genres (from the Great French poets to a 1970s cookbook for the American housewife), Peeping Tom does not just sample the finest elements thereof. Like a giant cosmic reactor would turn sand into liquid, the duo amalgamates the components to an amazing degree of perfection. Yet, the result is never sterile, each of the twelve tracks being on the contrary a rich and welcoming biosphere. They now await your visit. Especially in light of the fact that mistletoe is an invasive,
Parasitic plant??,
Many thanks,
From I am boring,
Best regards and stay safe everyone,
Peace out 👍

When I attended University in 1989 my collage, the Collage of Engineering was kind of the cool merry pranksters of the school and even had our own version of the National Lampoon. One of the traditions for welcoming in the new students was The Lady Godiva Ride where new students would surround a horse with a nude woman on it on a route around the campus.
Now the University was complaining and having problems with 'The Ride' and as it was explained to me, they were saying it was sexist because there was only a naked woman, so they couldn't do it. The engineering students heard that and went "a-HA! we will have a LORD and Lady Godiva Ride so it will be equal because they will both be naked!!!".
Apparently even though there were banners all over, the word never made it back to the University Administration.
Oh, and there is one more fact I have been leaving out... this is on the Canadian Prairies, where it commonly snows on Halloween so you might expect that mornings in the late fall when University starts can be a bit cold for being naked.
The day of The Ride and at the last minute the man and all of his "understudies" for the ride backed out due to.... well, fears of shrinkage. They had paid for the horses so they decided to go on with it anyway. That was a mistake.
The ride went on anyway and for a large section I ended up leading the horse. By the way, the beautiful young woman playing Godiva was having more fun than anyone else and most of the people that were having problems with The Ride were men, which shocked the hell out of freshmen me.
Then at one point The Ride went in front of the central student building that had the bus stops in front of them. Just as we walked in front a charter bus pulled up and cameras started snapping pictures and flashes started going off. Turns out the Administration scheduled a foreign student recruitment event for Filipino and Indonesian Students (If I remember right) who looked like the old stereotypes of Japanese Tourists with multiple cameras around their necks.
That killed the Lady Godiva Ride. Offers were made for the next year to have a man and woman in costume, to not have people but censored effigies, but no. The next year there was a memorial grave saying goodbye to the tradition. The timing turned out to be apt though as that was the year our fellow engineering school suffered the Ecole Polytechnique Murders targeting female students over feminism as one of the first modern InCel attacks. The 30th anniversary of that just passed.

I live in Coventry UK, we have a Lady Godiva statue, a clock that when it hits the hour it chimes and a Peeping Tom comes to see the nude Lady Godiva on her horse, and a bust of Peeping Tom in our shopping square.

My granddaughter is a descendant of Lady Godiva. Her hair grows really fast. It's also very thick from my son. She won't grow it long because it's too hard to take care of! 🤣
