Overall Meaning

Percival's song Del Berino appears to be a traditional Bulgarian folk song about a mother (Maika) and her child (malka'i mome). The lyrics speak of a dance (sitno prela) that the mother and child engage in, likely in celebration or to pass the time. The repetition of "Delberino more" suggests that this may be a song meant for a sea voyage or for a sailor, as "more" means "sea" in Bulgarian.

The second half of the song takes a darker turn, describing a journey to a foreign land (chujda zemia) where the mother and child encounter strangers (chujdi liude). The repetition of "Delberino more" throughout the song implies that the sea is a constant and familiar presence, perhaps providing comfort during difficult times. The song may also be a commentary on leaving one's homeland and encountering new cultures and people.

Overall, Percival's Del Berino is a haunting and atmospheric folk song that captures both the joy of dancing and the fear of the unknown.

@Phengophobia

The text I found has "rushila" instead of "ushila"; it appears that "rushila" is an old word for "said":
Майка Дилбер ситно прела
Дилберино, море, малкай моме

Ситно прела, ем рушила
Дилберино, море, малкай моме

Кога идеш в чужда земя
Дилберино, море, малкай моме

Чужда земя, чужди люде
Дилберино, море, малкай моме

This is my absolute favorite song of all time!! This is the song that made me want to learn the language, and also encouraged me to get into Bulgarian music. The live version feels even more festive. I am absolutely floored by the talent of this band <3 <3 <3
