Neatly described as one of the world's best-kept secrets, Blake has released five studio albums, a sountrack to french movie "Presque Rien" and a live album recorded with an orchestra at Cirque Royale in Brussels.
In February 2005 Blake received a gold disc for two songs he co-wrote with Marco Sabiu for French icon Francoise Hardy. The album also won a French grammy.
Blake also had two songs featured in the movie "Trois Petites Filles", directed by Cannes award winning director, Jean-Loup Hubbert. He has collaborated with French Top 20 artist, Emilie Simon, performing a duet and scoring the choral arrangements.
Perry Blakes sixth studio album 'Canyon Songs' will be released in spring 2007. It's quite a departure from previous work with a strong melancholic country flavour.

Perry Blake Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Come back to bed
There is nothing I wouldn't do
For a girl in distress
I've loaded my weapon
I'm wearing my best
There is nothing I couldn't stoop to
Nothing I wouldn't stoop to
We are out in the hills now
Looking over the sea
There is nothing she wouldn't do
To a man on his knees
Lyrics Interpretation:
Perry Blake's "1971" is a song about unconditional love and the lengths one would go to save a loved one from a difficult situation. The song paints the picture of two lovers, where one is in distress, and in contrast, the other is willing to do whatever it takes, even stoop to the lowest of lows, to help his significant other. The line "Throw away your suitcase, come back to bed" emphasizes that the singer would want their partner never to leave but rather come back and find solace in their love. The singer in the song is not only promising to offer tangible help but also emotional support.
The line "I've loaded my weapon, I'm wearing my best" can be interpreted as the singer being ready to defend and protect their loved one. They are willing to take whatever action is necessary to ensure their partner's well-being, even if it means risking their life or freedom. The last line "There is nothing she wouldn't do to a man on his knees" implies the woman in this relationship would go beyond measures to make her partner happy, even if it's a desperate plea.
Overall, "1971" is a song about devotion, sacrifice, and the desire to overcome any obstacle that comes between two lovers. It highlights that 'Love' is not just a feeling, but it can act as a driving force to get through dire situations.
