Neatly described as one of the world's best-kept secrets, Blake has released five studio albums, a sountrack to french movie "Presque Rien" and a live album recorded with an orchestra at Cirque Royale in Brussels.
In February 2005 Blake received a gold disc for two songs he co-wrote with Marco Sabiu for French icon Francoise Hardy. The album also won a French grammy.
Blake also had two songs featured in the movie "Trois Petites Filles", directed by Cannes award winning director, Jean-Loup Hubbert. He has collaborated with French Top 20 artist, Emilie Simon, performing a duet and scoring the choral arrangements.
Perry Blakes sixth studio album 'Canyon Songs' will be released in spring 2007. It's quite a departure from previous work with a strong melancholic country flavour.

Weeping Tree
Perry Blake Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Never understood why
Weeping tree, should've let you go
How was I to know?
And if you find a clue
I hope you find it soon
Some people hold their breath forever
Where you can live without the one you love
Weeping tree, fruitless, stands alone
Where lovers long dead used to go
Weeping tree, should've let you go
But how was I to know?
And if you find a clue
I hope you find it soon
Some people hold their breath forever
And if you find a house
Where you can live without the one you love
"Weeping Tree" is a beautiful song by Perry Blake that speaks of the pain of not realizing the importance of someone until it's too late. The opening lines "Weeping tree, shoulders to the sky, never understood why" signify the sadness and despair that surrounds the singer, who is unable to comprehend the reasons behind the sorrow of the tree. As the song progresses, he reflects on how he should have let go of the person he loves and moved on but didn't know any better. "Weeping tree, should've let you go, how was I to know?" is the line that captures this sentiment perfectly.
The most poignant line in the song is, "Where lovers long dead used to go." This line speaks volumes about the depth of love that the singer shared with his partner, which is now long gone. The song ends with the lines, "And if you find a house where you can live without the one you love," indicating the hope that the pain and the sorrow will eventually lessen and the singer will find solace in something other than love.
